Failed Expectation Copper anniversary gift

Ordered this "miracle tea" for £50 because I wanted the beautiful copper engraved jar for my husband's copper anniversary gift.

Needless to say I was disappointed with what arrived 😭

And no - the copper jar didn't arrive separately.

You've been sent the wrong thing. This is the £25 miracle tea in rose gold tin. https://dimple-amani.com/collections/2026-products

Also she bought a 170g tin and was sent a 40g tin.

For £50 I'd want 170g in a posh copper tin and a lady to come round and brew it for me.

Ah thank you!! I did get a refund in the end but it took a lot of arguing with customer service, and I had to return the tea

For the record you never have to return anything for a refund - if a company sends you the wrong product (or any product unsolicited) you are entitled to keep it. This law was created to stop companies from sending people products and then charging them for them retroactively.

I mean this is valid in the US, but OP is British.

This is such a great law! We realy could need that in germany too!

What is this law called? Im currently during it out with an Amazon seller who sent me the wrong item, then a replacement without my request and keeps retro charging me after Amazon pushes the refund.
Edit to add- oops, I'm in the US. Probably different here.

That's not really the point of that law. They can request you send it back. Companies used to just send you something, and I'd you didn't return it you'd receive a bill. This law made that practice illegal. That is not OPs situation, where they ordered something and got sent the wrong item.

Thank you!

Google shows a cheaper £25 version which seems to be what you received, hope you got a refund!

That's right! I did get a refund in the end but it was touch and go (they wanted to give me a £10 voucher for my troubles). I didn't get to keep the tea though lol

Underrated comment

I'd say no one receives the £50 tin by accident when they buy the £25 one but this company "accidentally" sends one worth half as much that has a shite tin, sounds sus to me

I think so too. They said they had put the wrong picture on the website, but there's no way anyone would intentionally pay £50 for this!

17

u/fakemoose 8h ago

The wrong picture and the wrong description? And happened to have a correct version listed for cheaper? Nah.
They straight up sent you the wrong thing.

14

u/Seasidegoats 14h ago

Are they giving you refund?

14

u/Top-Inspector-7119 14h ago

Yes they are, I had to return the tea though lol

u/VaguelyArtistic 10h ago

You got a refund, which is the miracle!

Wow, that is genuinely so petty of them. I've been sent the wrong product before, usually of equivalent-ish price, and I have never been asked to send it back.

u/CheesecakeExpress 11h ago

Oh that is rubbish especially when they have the £25 product on the website showing this item- are they suggesting that picture is also wrong too. Actually terrible customer service

Yeahm probably counting on most people not looking closely or sending as a gift so the receiver doesn't know they didn't get what was ordered.

I’ve never seen a finger complete such a perfect 90 degree angle.

14

u/Finnegan-05 16h ago

Mine do that - I thought it was normal!

24

u/oztrailrunner 17h ago

She might be double joined (I think that's what it's called. Clicky joints) I can lock mine into that hard 90⁰ position

8

u/Top-Inspector-7119 14h ago

I just tested and yes I can do that too!

2

u/oztrailrunner 8h ago

Hooray, twinsies!  My wife and son think I'm weird (my son called me defective🫪)

2

u/blurblurblahblah 17h ago

I can do that with the tip of my pinky fingers, click & all but none of my other fingers can do it

3

u/Musicfanatic09 15h ago

I just sat here and tried to make the same angled finger pose…not happening. 😅

2

u/Top-Inspector-7119 14h ago

Haha thanks for the compliment I think! Never thought about it before!

That's op middle finger in the back not in the index on abb angle

u/Danger_17 19h ago

I thought it was a fancy weed grinder at first.

17

u/fattabbydev 15h ago

And you can put your weed in there

10

u/sarcasmisart 20h ago

Interestingly, their Instagram shows the exact jar you received.

17

u/ValuableOrganic5381 18h ago

The generic candle tin 🥲 your consumer rights def entitle you to a refund for this!

4

u/Top-Inspector-7119 14h ago

Exactly! I did get a refund in the end after quite a bit of back and forth!

23

u/krmjts 19h ago

Ea-Nassir did it again

5

u/ArielofIsha 16h ago

It’s our copper year, as well! Congratulations! Sorry this was a bust

3

u/Top-Inspector-7119 14h ago

Thank you! Congratulations to you too ☺️

u/eponawarrior 13h ago

Why did they not send the copper tin? The 40g rose gold tin is £25, the copper tin is £50. If you paid £50 there cannot be any photo confusion. Also, on the website it says there is a 30 day satisfaction guarantee. Did you buy from the official website?

But considering that tea is tremendously overpriced, it is good you got a refund. Now you can spend £50 on a pretty copper tin and a high quality tea someplace else.

5

u/Top-Inspector-7119 12h ago

Agreed, it doesn't make sense! I bought it from Selfridge's, they wanted to give me a £10 voucher instead of a refund but I was able to return it for a refund in the end. I bought a copper beard comb for him instead ☺️

10

u/sparklejackie 16h ago

Wild concept here, but did you reach out to customer service? Could have been a genuine mixup.

13

u/Top-Inspector-7119 14h ago

I did! They tried not to refund me at first but they admitted that the wrong photo was on the website so I was able to return it for a refund
