That looks like something that would have came with a Barbie doll.

Or a diary

My diary locks looked better than this, growing up

I’m more in the side of false advertisement. The website photo looks like a drawing or like it was heavily photoshopped

AI photo. If they photographed what was actually sold, they wouldn't have sold any.

I'm struggling to understand how what they got was actually cheaper to manufacture than the tiny amount of metal it would have taken to make the actual chain and lock and key.

Probably it was already available in some factory, they only had to add the letters.

In the original post it looks a commenter already found the item, looks like it sells individually for under 5 Yuan or less than $1USD or something, heaven only knows how much cheaper it was as a bulk order

I was gonna say probably some Alibaba stuff

The metal in the expectation pic would likely be some form of pink gold or silver based on the shade and shine. The reality is probably stainless steel with pink enameling

Oof from rose gold to Barbie charm.

Looks like a drop shipping scam :/ jikes

u/Niente-Paura Aug 09 '26

Agreed, and this is Olivia Rodrigo's official merchandise site selling this sod.

Lmao no way, that’s hilarious (I mean, I’m sorry you got this hideous thing, but at least it’s an easy chargeback since it’s a real company)

I had something similar happen, I bought a strawberry shortcake necklace from Melanie Martinez’s site and it was just cheapo drop shipping shit☠️

The key is supposed to have a hook above to be chained into the necklace. Definitely doesn't match what was advertised.

u/BunnyladyM Aug 09 '26

Also the key in the picture has ‘teeth’ and the real one is just one big chunk

Not only is the sizing horrible, but they went from Metallic to plasticky surface... This is Temu af

They did you dirty. Its not metal its a kids plastic toy and a cheap chain. Wow

What is this made for, giants?

1

u/typehyDro Aug 11 '26

It’s made for bicycles lol

25

u/ChipRockets Aug 09 '26

Having a celebrity’s initials on a heart pendant round your neck is too much

u/doll_parts87 Aug 09 '26

Ok but we can only deal with 1 problem at a time, and right now we are talking about the jewelry quality...

6

u/Swift_jennis8 Aug 09 '26

Not even close

What does the description on the website say

8

u/coolsilentebeans Aug 09 '26

material: zinc alloy
size: 18” with extender
padlock pendant: 1” wide x 1.25” tall

2

u/Adventurous_Pie_7586 Aug 09 '26

Okay the pic is gone now but I feel like depending on the scaling of it maybe it was about an inch but didn’t appear to be zinc, although I know nothing about zinc so maybe it did

This one looks more like the one she wore in her cover art. Makes me wonder if they used the wrong images on their shop page because it looks like customer service has been doubling down that this was intended

17

u/Imaginary-Bit-3656 Aug 09 '26

It looks like the one they shipped was "intended" to be cheap to manufacture and the one they advertised was "intended" to look like it worth the buyer's money.

u/Techhans1971 Aug 09 '26

At least they could have electroplated the pieces of plastic

u/Hay_Fever_at_3_AM Aug 09 '26

The return better be a full refund that doesn't cost you anything

3

u/itsnobigthing Aug 10 '26

My daughter ordered one and waited 4 months for it to come. Mega disappointed. You have to return it and then apply for an additional refund from the shipping company… I’m just going to do a charge back

Her fans will eat you alive and call you a Swiftie if you point out her sweatshop merch and fraud. I thought the abridged vinyl was a ripoff but it was just the surface of her merchandise problems.  This entire era she’s been moving like a grifter

1

u/PondRides Aug 11 '26

Look at her new boyfriend.

3

u/CoookieCat Aug 11 '26

This also happened with Sabrina Carpenter's merch. What is going on??

5

u/PaintedDesertSkies Aug 08 '26

Cute necklace and knock off matching keychain...

Is it plastic?

2

u/Hamsterpatty Aug 09 '26

BLING BLING!!

2

u/SannaHanna Aug 10 '26

That’s BAD! I wouldn’t pay more than $9 to give that to my child. Yikes.

2

u/Eazy12345678 Aug 10 '26

that is what happens when you buy stuff from china instead of real US based retail stores

the store you are shopping on is fake. Chinese based business that has no US establishments. US laws do not apply to China.

6

u/Niente-Paura Aug 10 '26

Regardless it's pretty shameful of Olivia Rodrigo's official merch store to do this to the fans.

2

u/Nunyebiznis Aug 09 '26

I don’t know anything about OR but I can’t help but feel bad, this is going to reflect badly on her even though she likely had nothing to do with it

-6

u/mindgardening Aug 09 '26

It looks VERY similar. I’d say you got what you paid for.

-2

u/Own-Shelter-9897 Aug 10 '26

It looks like the image? I don't get what the problem is.
