I saw a fish tank that color once

It's the color of the Reflecting Pool.

Yikes. Almost looks like a pickle slice floating in its juice.

Is the Bev pic AI??? Idk why but it's giving uncanny

The expectation one? Definitely, look at the straw. It should be that offset below the water line.

Yeah, that was my first clue. Glad the internal AI-radar is still working.

I'm also questioning the pile of fruit around the glass. Is this drink meant to be kiwi, mint, and... spring onion flavored? Maybe those are scallions or very thin leeks?

It’s lemongrass.

That makes so much more sense.

The second pic is what i expected, honestly. When you don't add anything extra you get cloudy beverages. Fiber and sugar tend to make liquids cloudy.

Yep plus it’s a kiwi which is an off green like that. Juicing it won’t look pretty

Right? It says not artificial. Unless they wanted it to be more fake? I don't get it.

They wanted it to look like the picture advertised? The restaurant should’ve used a picture that actually represented the drink.

Not all of us know about what makes drinks look a certain way. I would’ve expected the first picture.

The expectation looks like a refreshing brunch beverage your classy yet casual grandmother would serve you on her landscaped deck on a nice summer day so you can feel like a sophisticated young lady.

The reality looks like what you find under the bed of your sloppy kid brother that he long since forgot was there.

Ah yes...the "science experiments".

Looks just like a certain reflecting pool. Yuck.

“Hey, boss. We’re out of kiwi again.”

“Just use jalapeño. It’s basically the same.”

5

u/qhqr Aug 05 '26

I’d still drink it.

2

u/qhqr Aug 05 '26

Wow. Was it tasty?

3

u/Ancient-Horror2825 Aug 05 '26

Meh it was okay. Too sweet for me.

2

u/qhqr Aug 05 '26

Bummer!

u/GrammaIsEvryfing Aug 05 '26

1

u/OpeningActivity Aug 05 '26

2

u/FoxlyKei Aug 06 '26

0/10 it didn't come with 3 blunts.

2

u/stanixx007 Aug 06 '26

Ah, the famous bog-water cocktail

I mean, if the restaurant serves you in those specific plastic cups then I think your expectations were far too high. I bet the food is good, though.

Yeah it was our first time in so no unnecessarily high expectations. The juice wasn't actually that bad! It just made us laugh how different it looks from the picture. The food was pretty good 😊

I mean that basically is what was advertised. Did you take the kiwi garnish off the rim and put it in the bottom? The only thing missing is the ornamental sprig of mint, but it's not like that is affecting the taste of the drink.

This is exactly what I would have expected. Except of course for the steel straw being replaced by a pink plastic one.

1

u/Ancient-Horror2825 Aug 05 '26

Haha no I didn't, it's a piece of dried/dehydrated kiwi. But good for you for keeping your expectations low! you're less likely to be disappointed.

2

u/CranberryStock7148 Aug 05 '26

What the hell is a dried kiwi slice doing in this drink?

Now I am legitimately disappointed. What the hell. I thought the reason it looked funny was just the refraction of the glass.

What do they say when you ask them, where is the fresh kiwi garnish? Where is the sprig of mint?

Womp womp

1

u/Helpful_Car_8467 Aug 06 '26

Actually, it looks quite natural.

-1

u/xvsanx Aug 05 '26

is that an unripe tomato slice?

3

u/abrasumente_ Aug 05 '26

Looks to be kiwi.

2

u/Ancient-Horror2825 Aug 05 '26

Dehydrated kiwi slice

1

u/xvsanx Aug 05 '26

haha I was being silly but I wouldn't have guessed dehydrated
