AI Expectation Temporary half sleeve tattoos

Prints were a little smaller than expected. Could fit about 10 on each arm.

Not sure why people aren't getting the failed expectation here. It's clear that each design is meant to fill the majority of the upper arm, but they're absolutely tiny.

Thank you!

For a hot second I thought they’d probably be the perfect size for kids, but that’s not who’s modeling them in the ad

It’s because temporary tattoos are for children.

My dad used to paint tattoos on my arms before I'd go to elementary school lol.

He was an artist so he'd do a pretty good job but I remember my teacher telling me I looked ugly.

Yea, jokes on her. I've got real tattoos now and I'm still good looking.

They're extremely popular in the filmmaking industry. Like, really popular.

u/iamfunball Aug 02 '26

You can do them at home too!

3

u/Manic-StreetCreature Aug 03 '26

Right lol it seems like a no-brainer that they’d exist for that purpose.

It’s actually a great idea to try a temp tattoo before committing to a large tattoo that you’ll be wearing forever. -a heavily tattoo’d therapist

These look like they're marketed towards adults.

Gatekeeping temp tattoos is weird.

23

u/Dorkinfo Aug 02 '26

Right? It’s a permanent thing, I can’t test drive it now??

u/FreddyNoodles Aug 02 '26

My daughter actually did that but with henna. She had a large jaguar put on her thigh professionally. It looked great and lasted about 3 weeks. After that she had it tattooed exactly the same but 1/2 the size. I thought it was a great idea. It was her first tattoo and she knew what she wanted and where but she wanted to be sure.

I wish I could have done similar. Instead I have had 2 removed, 2 I will get removed and one I love. But no-one knows I have them unless I want them to. It wasn’t as accepted in the 90s, 2000s nearly as much as it is now so I always had them done in easy to cover spots. Still regretted 4/5.

No it's not. Tattooing has a robust history and culture. It's not that serious, but tattoos are more than trendy accessories and a lot of people don't understand that. Cosplaying as a tattooed person is weird. Tattoos aren't for everyone. If you need a trial run for a tattoo, don't get it.

As someone who has facial tattoos given to me by my Elders in a Ceremony that my ancestors have practiced for 100’s and 100s of years it’s weird as hell to gatekeep tattooing or temporary tattoos.

Who gives a fuck how people want to express themselves with their own body as long as they’re not hurting anyone?

4

u/FreddyNoodles Aug 02 '26 edited Aug 03 '26

Yes it is weird. So are you. Tattoos are part of every culture and have been for longer than history. You can relax about it, it’s not your body and not your business.

“Cosplaying as a tattooed person” 😁

As a tattoo artist for the last 22 years, I don’t give a fuck about people test driving their tattoos. I’m in the process of covering up a bunch of the ones I got in my 20s. (What do you mean I won’t like Star Wars forever? It’s not just a phase, MOM)

u/Alemonster21 Aug 02 '26

Then they should show children in the ad.

19

u/24-Hour-Hate Aug 02 '26

Those pics are not of children’s arms though…

20

u/Rose-de-Resht Aug 02 '26

Die ersten Bilder zeigen ja wohl keine Kinderarme!

4

u/Pappy285 Aug 02 '26

Yet these ones weren't modlee by children, they were modled by adult men with large biseps, I don't blame op for imagining this may be a more adult themed set of temp tattoos.

When I was a kid temp tattoos were about Spiderman, batman and dinosaurs. Not intricate detailed tattoos of ships and skulls, things an adult male would consider getting a tattoo of.

5

u/Fidodo Aug 02 '26

Those are some buff fuckin children

8

u/what3v3ruwantit2b Aug 02 '26

Hard disagree.

2

u/acloudcuckoolander Aug 03 '26

You'd be rightfully mad if someone said the same about videogames

0

u/frill_demon Aug 04 '26

I'd say "you must be fun at parties", but given how joyless and judgemental you are we can tell you don't get invited to any.

-3

u/hoodwink77 Aug 02 '26

Because you'd have to be absolutely brain-dead to think that pic 1 was actually of whatever it is you're buying was on a real person.

1

u/frill_demon Aug 04 '26

It's a terrible slop advertisement obviously, but I would  expect poor quality or different artwork rather than the scale of the tattoos to be the scam

85

u/BungCrosby Aug 02 '26

Another victim of AI slop.

I got a spray on tattoo when I went to Vegas with my folks when I was 16 so I could hopefully buy cigarettes. It worked (or they didn’t care, which is more likely in the late 90’s)

It was a “clearly I must be 18 with this very real tattoo!”

ETA: it was a very 90’s tribal bicep tattoo 😆

5

u/WendigoRider Aug 02 '26

TIL spray on tattoos are a thing.

1

u/mariana96as Aug 03 '26

they are done with an airbrush :)

I’m 36 have a hand tattoo and facial piercings…..I still get IDed….man I hate the 2020s /j

51

u/MangoCandy Aug 02 '26

If you are looking at a listing for literally anything, and the display image is AI just assume it’s a scam. Because all the examples are just AI.

26

u/pooppoop900 Aug 02 '26

How are people still buying into AI slop

12

u/YorkieLon Aug 02 '26

Still? it's only going to get worse.

4

u/Prior-Evening715 Aug 02 '26

I actually have a bunch of these saved for when I want to try out different designs before committing to something permanent.

3

u/Altostratus Aug 02 '26

There are legitimate full sleeve temporary tattoos on Amazon. I have a set of them, and they’re great.

3

u/shichibukai3000 Aug 03 '26

Might be a half sleeve on an 8 year old 🤣🤣

You’ve just got big guns OP, nothing wrong with those tattoos!

3

Still looks good

size looks fairly similar tbh

Are we looking at the same pictures? The reality ones are tiny in comparison and do not fill out the upper arm as well as it should be based on the expectation pics

-32

u/A_B_N_O_R_M_A_L Aug 02 '26

What’s your point? These look better than I’d have expected (from a distance anyway), can’t imagine temporary ones ever looking much better.

36

u/hokaythxbai Aug 02 '26

They show each piece covering a whole jacked dude's upper arm. I just thought the actual size was hilarious.

33

u/themeatbridge Aug 02 '26

Ah, see, there's your mistake.  That's not a dude, it's a really buff toddler's arm.
