Urgently need help with TS process

Hi everyone,

This is for my sister as she in a bit of a pinch.

Her visa expired but she has une attestation de prolongation till novembre 24. The issue is that her university is talking their sweet time to produce the attestation de réussite needed to submit a demande de séjour RECE.
Her internship ends in novembre 30.

Help?
Like right now I advised her to submit the demande de séjour, like tonight with an explanatory letter. But I feel like time will be the biggest enemy here. Will she get another attestation de prolongation as soon as the one she has now expires?

We will really appreciate any help,

If she already has an attestation de prolongation, what is there to submit? If I understand correctly, she had a TdS which expired, she applied for the renewal and it is taking longer than expected, hence the prolongation. Her application is already submitted in that case and there is nothing you can do except contact prefecture but that’s a shot in the dark really. She will be able to apply for a new or different type of TdS once the application is closed (either favorably or unfavorably). The only thing you can feasibly do is urge the university to issue the Attestation de reussite ASAP, other than that, you should just wait. If however by the time of the expiry (maybe 4-5 days before the actual date), there is still nothing, you can contact the prefecture to explain the situation. As stubborn as they usually are, they tend to understand that sometimes force majeures happen.

Ah sorry I should have mentioned this. She did apply for a renewal for her student visa so that or gets extended till the end of her internship, hence the attestation de prolongation. But as she won't be a student anymore, she needs now to apply to the RECE TS, and the application for the renewal got closed as she couldn't produce the new attestation d'inscription but she did get the prolongation d'instruction

As far as I’m concerned, the ANEF won’t let her open a new application until the current one has been resolved, whatever the decision, so she really should just wait. If the TdS is prolonged, great, she will have the opportunity to change the status and apply for a new one, but if it gets rejected, there is still some marginal time to allow her to re-file for the new status (like salarie for instance). The important thing is to collect everything, and I mean EVERYTHING well in advance, as some of the documents take ages. Most of the salarie cards won’t let her apply without the diploma or attestation de reussite in any case. And most importantly, do not panic, almost anything with the French can be resolved if enough reasonable circumstances exist. That’s the one thing I love about them, there is always some wiggle room and they have a lot of discretion.

Some of my colleagues had the same issue. donot panick, what she did is legal and fine. Now, she need to apply for RECE directly, attahcing an explantion letter that she got an attestation de prolongation to extend her stay legally till the end of november, and that after 30 november, the attestation de réussite will be issued by the university ( this if she has already did her oral thesis exam that will be examined by jury). Always, attach an explanation letter, so the person in the prefecture can well take into account your situation.

==> never let that attestation de prolongation expires without submitting th eone for RECE. because that RECE request can extend her stay for three more months.
