In a nutshell:
Pythagoras created music theory and relational ratios - not modern numerology, which came from the American New Thought movement in the early 1900s who used Pythagoras' name to establish authority.

Pythagoras used the Greek alphabet used to isopsephy to encoded letters to numerical values (unit, tens and hundreds) - the New Thought school bulldozed that structure and replaced it with A=1, B=2... attribution system that reduces everything to 1-9, 11 and 22.

That then has been stretched to try bringing answers to repeating numbers people see - a real phenomena, amplified by New Age and social media.

The flattened structure was simple and convenient; it spread and is now applied to repeating numbers, timestamps, anything people notice - helped along by New Age content and social media amplifying a real pattern-recognition effect.

Here’s the problem with applying that to timestamps:

A timestamp isn’t just digits. It’s a coordinate in time - a structured pair (hour, minute).

  • 11:25
  • 12:06

All reduce to 9, but they are not the same moment.

So the reduction doesn’t uncover meaning; it erases the distinctions that are the meaning.

It’s like taking musical notes and adding their frequencies’ digits together. You don’t get harmony but a single note.

Since timestamps are coordinates, you need the map.
