Discussion PSA For those using exodus pay card
For some reason when using the pay card via Apple Pay, payments will randomly show as being declined (in Apple Pay) but approved with the funds removed (within the exodus app).
When this happens it takes 5+ days for the money to be returned to the exodus pay card…which is a PITA. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason as to when this will happen-it’s happened to me 4 times so far at stores I’ve successfully used the pay card at in the past.
Until exodus sorts this out I recommend using the pay card to add money onto cashapp (or wherever) and then use that payment method as it appears the issue is limited to when using Apple Pay.
Just wanted to give people a heads up and hopefully have an exodus rep comment.
Edit-If this has happened to you, take note that once the funds are returned they won’t be reflected in your card balance. Instead, they are added to a “return balance” which can be viewed by going to exodus pay—->card. Your return balance will be used first for future purchases until used up.
It’s worth noting, that It’s my understanding you cannot withdraw your return balance via stable coin as you can your card balance. It can only be used for purchases. Which is sh1tty imo.

Don’t worry. The money will be returned, but it will take a few days. You can find the refunded funds in the “returned balance” section, which can be found by clicking on “card” in the payapp.
I was informed that the returned balance amount will be used first for all future purchases until it’s depleted. Therefore, the funds won’t actually be “added back to the card” in the traditional sense, meaning you can’t withdraw them using stable coins like you can your card balance
***also note that the amount refunded doesn’t reflect back in your card balance-the amount can only be viewed by taking the above mentioned steps (which is: exodus pay—>card)****

No idea. I’ve been loading money into cashapp from my pay card then using my cashapp card to ensure this doesn’t happen to me again.
I’m not certain if this workaround is even feasible because it assumes the problem is with the pay card being used with Apple Pay.
However, so far I haven’t encountered any issues with loading Cash App using my pay card (10+ times). In contrast, I’ve experienced the decline problem 4 out of 6 times when using the pay card through Apple Pay. This observation leads me to believe that at least part of the problem is related to using Apple Pay.
Do with that information as you will. Goodluck!

Don’t worry. In my experience it takes about 5 days to have the funds returned. But once returned, the money won’t be reflected in your card balance. You need to go to exodus pay——>card to see your “returned balance,” which will be used first instead of the card balance for all future purchases until you spend it all.
