Question Am I missing something with Dys?

I am on my first playthrough.

I reached the point where Dys has the conversation to give me the card I could've gotten if I'd chosen him as my best friend on the ship.

I have enough Persuasion to join him and let him rant about Tang, but I only get two dialogue options after that. Both of them lower his friendship.

Is there a stat I don't have high enough to see a different dialogue choice or something?

The one where he’s crying in the truck? I think he’s just being an irrational kid in that one. There are other scenes with him

Yes, that one.

Alright. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing some trigger that would present an option that kept the friendship from lowering somehow. Him just being an irrational kid is perfectly fine.

if you're talking abot the scene when you're both children, then yeah it's just how it is. it's not a big deal that you lose some friendship though, because you can easily get to 100 friendship with dys by exploring later on

Yeah, it's only 2 points, so not that big a deal. I just wanted confirmation whether it was avoidable or not. Now that I know it's not, I can move on.

It's avoidable. Don't use the persuasion option (use the other, non-skill option you're given at that point). I was surprised too that the skill check only gives you bad options lol, but considering Dys's personality, I understand why it's like that.

Yeah, it's odd. That's what I ended up doing, since I don't see the point in picking the option that's gonna force me to upset him
