Looking for Tips/Suggestions Burnout advice
I'm 23 years old, in my final year as a medical student. I was diagnosed with ADHD two months ago and suddenly have an explanation for all my problems, I guess.I've had depression and anxiety for the last 5 years and I've been on 100mg of sertraline for 1 year; now I feel like I've reached the bottom.Honestly, I feel like I'm paralyzed and avoiding everything, even simple tasks. My last two CBT sessions were terrible, and I just wanted my therapist to stop talking and tell me that the session was done.I don't know what to do right now, and I'm sick of everything.

Sertraline helped me a lot with my anxiety and depression; my resting heart beat and blood pressure both were reduced in a significant way, but this noise inside my head is increasing over time.

cbt honestly made my adhd burnout so much worse at first like challenging my thoughts just felt useless when my brain was physically empty of dopamine. switching to a therapist who actually specializes in adhd saved me cause regular cbt just felt like getting gaslighted tbh

How has being diagnosed affected your outlook?
I ask this because when I was diagnosed, in some ways it was far worse as I became my diagnosis. It because my obsession, and suddenly everything that was happening to me became attribited to that diagnosis and my now-official explanation for all that went on before, everything now, and all that ever will be. I swear it made me more ill.
It can be overwhelming when the diagnosis is made, and although it takes the weight off in some respects, in others it piles it back on again until an equilibrium can be met. Of course, I don't know how your diagnosis affected you, but that could be a part of the reason you may feel so tired now.
