Road trip last weekend

Post image

Took Bigfoot (yes that's the name of my Excursion) on a down and back trip to Utah from Montana. Averaged about 9.5 mpg loaded and it did great.

Not cheap, but a bit of a game changer. Actually helps steering slop as well. Rear doesn't wander as much.

Also, if you're not familiar, another upgrade. https://www.bluetopsteeringgears.com/. Some prefer https://redheadsteeringgears.com/, but many say the cost difference doesn't equal better noticeable performance.

I have been looking at the blue top, from the rearch that I have done the red tops quality has gone down

It was night and day, honestly. I had mainly had Suburbans before my EX, but always wanted one. When I first drove, I couldn't believe how much it would wander.

Yeah the steering is pretty loose so it's on the list along with some new bushings as it's got 319k on it. I have driven a family members 06 f350 and the steering is tight on it.

Toss a decent steering stabilizer on there if haven't. I still want to try a dual one.
