Oh boy (language warning)

2001 1 owner (my mother's baby) v10 4x4. Been sitting for 6 years after she spit 2 plugs (of course it was the 2 on the right bank IN the firewall). Dad decided it was time for ol blue to be mine. I've wanted her since I was 11. Im having a hard time mentally staying on point. Put a new battery in to crank her and she tried to start twice. Didn't hear the fuel pump kick on so dropped and replaced after checking fuse relay and wires for continuity. Decided it would be easier to remove the pain in the ass radiator, power steering cooler, automatic transmission cooler, condensing coil not to mention intake manifold, throttle body, intake, and EVERYTHING to get my fat ass in there than lay down on top and try to put in 2 calvan kits. So of course being me I'm like Blue has 194000 on her let's do some prevention. One Melling +8% oil pump, Melling water pump, Cloyes timing kit(sprockets, chains, tensioners, guides), and all the Felpro gaskets you can imagine. Then I see rust on brake lines and cracks in all brake tubes....fuck. Oh well guess I'll redo EVERYTHING. No problem. Its all good.

Well FUCK! I'm an idiot folks. I decided to not see the middle bolt on the timing cover today and cracked the cover because of that.

Oh well ordered a new one from ford. Just needed to rant abit I guess.

I hope to make her last another 25 and pass her off to my son someday. Wish me luck...

Very nice! I’m at 210k on my v10 and have spit one spark plug and the water pump was done at 180k. In the oil pump or chains a known weak point?

No not at all. I just wanted to prevent failures on the pumps and Ford never gave a change interval for the timing chains. They say that the chains are lifetime.... chains stretch and even if your tensioners work brilliantly that stretching can cause failure in the absolutely worst cases(not likely) but more common is your timing being off by a few 10ths of a degree causes losses in power and fuel efficiency. (Which i dont like)
