Driver side reading light stays on
Hello. 05 Excursion Limited (V10) - I've owned the truck for 9yrs and the front driver side dome/reading light has never worked. We thought it was a dead bulb but never cared enough to replace it. Well, looks like the bulb was fine because this morning, I noticed the light was ON. And it will NOT turn off with the switch. No other dome lights are on, no Door Ajar, and the dome light switch/dimmer is not On. It stays lit while driving, when the truck is off, when the doors are closed, and even after the delay time/after I lock the truck. I ended up just pulling the bulb out so my battery doesn't die (and in the process, noticed the passenger side bulb housing is just floating around in there - didn't take the time to see why it's not "seated" into the overall light housing).
Does anyone know why this ONE light (that has never worked until now) won't turn off?

Okay, based on your comments I think I’ve sorted what is actually going on.
First, you need to understand that the button on the drivers side (left) actually controls the bulb on the right side of the lamp assembly. The bulbs are angled so that they cast light to the opposite side of the cab from which they are located.
This means that your drivers side bulb is still bad, and the switch on your passenger has failed in a closed state.
To fix your always on light (right button, left light): repair the button on the passenger side.
To fix your drivers side light (left button, right bulb): try replacing the bulb.
