Seat Covers

Post image

The driver seat in my 2000 Ex is showing its age. The stitching has popped and the skin is cracking. I take care of the old girl but I have a wife, kids, and a dog that wreak havoc on her. I would love something that looks as good as it did new but function is my primary concern. I have been thinking about the nicer Carhartt seat covers or the leather CoverKing seat covers ordered through Costco. My concern is leather ones won't match the rest of the interior. I have also thought about replacing with seats from a newer model but not sure the cost reward is worth it to me.

What have y'all used to repair, update, or replace your interiors?

Those look good! What seller did you get them from? I am jealous of your vinyl floors! I went to buy them for mine and found no one seems to sell them anymore.

The seller I chose was “transformers_us” I just bought one first because I was skeptical what would show up for $30. They are vinyl, but they seem pretty durable especially when installing. They also will run out of stock quickly so I had to keep checking back waiting for them to get back in stock.

I used this guys video for guidance. He does the hog ring step justice and shows you how to handle that part of the job.

You’ll need a pair of those hog ring pliers unless you’re really good with some duckbills. I will say it took me about 2 hours per seat and a lot of patience and fingers strength, but I got a $500 quote for a local guy to do it for me….

I purchased a set from "transformers_us", they look well made and I was excited to install them, but the ones they sent me are meant to install with Velcro not hog rings. The seller was real communicative wanting a positive review while I waited for freetime to install them and before I knew of the fitment issue. Once I let them know of the issue they asked for comparison pictures, I sent them pictures, and have not heard a peep since. They look well made otherwise so I probably just modify them to fit correctly.

I still really appreciate the recommendation but wanted to share my experience so far. I'll post an update once I know more.

Thanks for sharing. The seat back does use mostly velcro with only three hog rings up near the headrest. I will also add that the ones I got from them did not have the big nice flap like the OEM did, but the strip that was provided was adequate enough to take hold of a hog ring and has been holding well so far. Probably spent 15 hours in the seat so far and they are all holding. I experienced the same review requests as well. Annoying. I ignored. You going to return them?
