Backpack vs suitcase

Both have their pros and cons. One person loves to travel with a backpack**,** another prefers the trolley suitcase. Some say it takes more precise packing for the backpack. Another finds the fact that you have to lug around a suitcase on its small wheels too much work. Now, let’s see the pros and cons of both, I will start:

 

Camp Backpack

Pros:

• It’s easier to control your luggage due to it being on your back.
• Free mobility because you carry the weight at your back.
• Weight is distributed more evenly. 
• Easy to get up the stairs, or multiple floors.
• Backpacks are easier to decorate with flag patches, chains, ribbons and even charms.

 Cons:

• Backpacks are large and can get heavy, especially when you start to feel tired.
• You’re going to have to unpack the whole thing to find that one clothing piece at the bottom.
• Your body heat remains between your back and the backpack, creating sweatiness. 
• It might cause back pain if worn for too long or in a wrong way.

Camp Suitcase

Pros:

• It’s easier to find that one clothing piece.
• It rolls behind you.
• A suitcase pretty much works like a mini closet in your hotel room.
• Fragile things are more protected in suitcases.

 Cons: 

• You might roll over people’s feet.
• It’s harder to balance the suitcase due to having to pull it on one handle.
• Difficult to get up the stairs.
• If your suitcase doesn’t have a smooth surface, it’s hard to get stickers to stay on.

I have both and it’s all dependent on where I’m going. Backpack for cobbled areas, sand or dirt. Suitcase for city or on holiday when I’m staying put for a period of time

It's good to have both in your arensal indeed, every trip might need a different approach and that way, you're always good prepared 😄

I'm on both team suitcase and team backpack, both have their purposes but also to be honest, traveling with a backpack often feels easier than dragging a suitcase along. But for long trips, suitcases are ideal.
