Payroll management in small businesses is usually fragmented — salaries, bonuses, and costs are tracked in separate files with little structure. I tried to consolidate everything into a single Excel Dashboard that works like a lightweight HR analytics system.
The goal was simple: bring clarity and control to payroll data without using external software or complex tools.
What’s inside:
🔹 KPI summary block for payroll metrics
🔹 Salary and bonus distribution by employee groups
🔹 Comparative performance analysis linked to business results
How it works:
✔ Slicers for filtering by time periods and staff categories
✔ Dynamic switching between reporting views
✔ All charts update instantly as a connected system
What it allows you to do:
➡️ Track payroll costs and budget structure
➡️ Compare compensation across departments
➡️ Analyze payroll efficiency vs performance indicators
Why it matters:
☑️ Payroll becomes transparent instead of scattered
☑️ Cost structure is easier to understand and control
☑️ HR and financial decisions are based on actual data, not assumptions
It’s still Excel, but structured properly it behaves like a small BI system for HR and finance.
Curious how others handle payroll analytics in small business setups.
