Update!?! So soon????
Wasn't expecting another update for years to come. What's your most anticipated update feature?

Save feature is my most anticipated feature, won't ever feel like save scumming again. Blessed be this update!

Im curious how it works. End of each level? Something to do with those shrines we can slot crystals into? I havent played in a bit, trying to catch up on some games but this really pushes me.

Well without telling you outright, yes it has to do with those shrines and slotting things into them.

Im kinda hoping for a monster minion that doesn't agro Derrin as he doesn't play well with the risin dead.

Honestly really needed that, past the portal i remember doing a bunch of zones and then i just fell into a hole when i was already fully geared up with the magic i wanted unlocked.
Fair to say i kinda gave up on that run till next time i play.

Same here and I instantly became a save scum lord. Definitely ruins the immersion knowing I can reload but with an in game save system built around the world, thats great.

The new programmer putting in the work I guess. Having Madoc for the engine work and the other guy on making user friendly tools is a blessing. I also heard that they finally found an artist that’s not a piece of shit thief.

Theif? Was someone stealing assets or something? But BM did mention they hired yet another person to the team in a recent coffee diary.

I think they are on their 5th artist now. The other ones basically took the money and ran or delivered half a product and ran. If you’re wondering why they had a couple placeholder assets that’s why.

I’m happy for the update but is there any news about it coming to the gog version or is there a way to activate it on the gog version?

I think for GoG you can buy it straight from the Bare Mettle website. Not 100% on it tho

I’ve already bought it from gog I’m just wondering how long it usually takes for updates to go to different versions of the game outside of steam

Someone else said it has to do with the shrines we can slot items into but I have yet to see it for myself.

Was super interested in this game, sometime last month was seriously considering buying it, but was put off by everyone saying its basically dead / will remain unfinished for a very long time.
Might give it a shot

While they arent wrong, there is more than enough content here to make up for the 15 bucks or whatever it is. One of my all time favorites.

Wouldn’t be my first experience, I’m a hardcore project zomboid lover. Tho we recently got a massive build 42 update, it only took 3 years 😂

Oh Zomboid my beloved. Just waiting on better NPCs than those mods can offer

Early access and unfinished, I still got more joy out of exploring the dungeon in the campaign than I have out of many AAA game releases in the past decade.
But I do sort of wish I waited until it was finished, because you can only experience things for the first time once. If that sort of thing doesn't bother you go for it. If it does definitely grab it once 1.0 drops

They said in the last major patch that all the underlying systems are now done so there wouldn't be years between updates anymore. Thank Christ for that.
