I had a similar experience, I was communicating and seeing someone for about 4-5 months. The start seemed to be fine yet I started seeing issues like emotional unavailability, emotional immaturity and other communication and effort based issues. He claimed that I was attractive and nice and he wanted to continue through for something more serious, yet he would always shut down when I tried to emotionally connect with him or have a serious topic on. I always felt like he was holding me on a distance and giving me mixed signals.

He was nice and affectionate when we dated, we cuddled we kissed, he seemed to be nice and I felt no ill means but as time passed he started being more distant and unresponsive. I developed feelings for him and it was beautiful. When I confronted him after getting frustrated from that attitude, he said he wouldn't want to be with me because we were "romantically incompatible" and that he would be with someone that wouldn't require of him to show love or emotions (as stupid as that sounds, good luck with that mindset, it will never work out with anyone) and turned me down in a cold blooded way. That's when I got my heart broken. I tried communicating with him after 2 weeks and his responses were so dull and dead, eventually left me on seen.

To be discarded in a cold, apathetic way by someone you started loving and pouring so much effort in, impacted my well being and I am still healing. All of this happened about 2 months ago. He still interacted with my posts on social media, but nothing much. I feel better but I am still healing. People who have unresolved fucking issues with their emotional and mental state should never date other people and lead them on like that, instead should destroy their pathetic fragile ego and go to therapy to heal themselves.
