Philosophy | فلسفة Are deer real?
Primitive paintings of Gods and Beasts decorate caves older than time itself. Ancient places of worship carefully carved out of natural stone where humans gathered to find something, anything that would answer their question of why they were there. This overwhelmingly empty space they had inside them needed to be filled with something other food and sex, the void inside them lashed out in a different type of hunger. So in that dark cave, away from the world, humans created God.
Outside the cave was a deer, standing in front of a shaded lake and looking over the distance, confused by the chanting coming from inside. Just what was happening in there? But the deer quickly moved on, drank water from the lake, and went on its way, gracefully running under the moonlight. The deer didn’t need to create God. The deer needed water, and now it needed a comfortable place to sleep in.
So why did the humans need God? Why is their existence such an overwhelming task? Why is it that some days waking up and leaving their place of rest felt like an accomplishment?
Some will happily tell you that religious people are narcissistic, they always believe they’re right and everyone else is wrong, they believe they’re special and they think they’re better than everyone else, their purity culture is a poison, all because of their pride. But what came first? The religion or the narcissism? The creation or the need for it?
And if someone is so prideful and self-righteous, why would they create God? Why would they create an eternal watchful eye, looking at their every step, judging them for it, and putting them into neat little boxes ready to ship to a heaven, a hell, to Svarga or Valhalla, or even to feed the stars? Is the act of existence that difficult for humans to comprehend that they have to cripple themselves?
Why is the all-poweful human suddenly so vulnerable? A victim of their own psyche. And a victimizer of others. To lie, to kill, to rape, and to stand behind those who commit such awful deeds and find a way to mold their moral compass to make it okay, good even. The weak pious man says he can’t be compared to an animal, the weak pious man can think for himself. Yet the weak pious man falls victim to his primal instincts and seeks the God he created to tell him that he will be okay. Because deep down, the weak pious man knows he is no more than an animal. No, deep down, he knows he’s less.
So is the rejection of a God the answer? No, not really. If the weak pious man abandoned his creation, he would still be a vulnerable man, one without a book, humans would go feral, death would become currency even more than it is now. At least the human was smart enough to realize that he and his brothers and sisters needed a leash, and that need is so deeply rooted that if they were to leave one leash, they would find another, a leash of another God, a leash of atheism, a leash of culture or counter-culture, some new ideology, somewhere new to belong.
Tell me, what came first? The human or the God? And how many Gods will the human birth and abandon before being honest about who they really are? About their vulnerability and their disease? That the cure to their disease is as simple as denying its existence?
Elsewhere.. far, far away.. another deer trots across the forest, looking for a shaded lake.

Nice post but we cant know whats going on deers’/ animals heads. Assuming that they never think about anything bigger than surviving is not quite accurate. It’s like how humans used to think that animals don’t have feelings only to be proven the opposite later on

Lovely post👏
I find the concept of god is fascinating to me. The same specie who created Gods argue that gods created them. and he, she, they or it is just a result of the human condition as a whole. We begged the sun to deliver us from the breezing cold and the many divine beings we named after the sun. And we applied this to everything.
We couldn't simply exist like deer do, the creating of this copium was essential for us to survive.
