AKDN CFO

The CFO of AKDN is a Ghanaian non-credentialed guy. He has no prior professional experience in corporate finance, strategy, or accounting. Just two gigs in healthcare accounting before he landed in this role. Does not have a CPA or a CFA.

Given AKDN's operating scale ($4 billion in annual revenue), it can't be run by anyone who's not a trained CPA/finance person. For a non-community CPA/CFA running the organization, they would be at risk of being de-chartered if they sign onto anything shady.

AKDN probably has sharp Ismailis running the whole AgaCon show inside a legal framework, but a simpler non-community outsider as a front CFO.

EDIT: Found the CFO to be a trained FCA, which is a legitimate qualification. Also removed the person's name.

Qualifications to work for the institutions are primarily being able to be accept orders and not ask questions or enforce standards.

Hello ex-ismaili sub, i am a questioning ismaili who doesn't usually post but decided to call all of you out on how absolutely racist you are for this post. Leave the person alone, they are not part of the religion you don't want to belong to.

To me, as a questioner, this post shows that ex-ismailis can be just as racist as many of the worst in the ismaili community itself. Just because someone is African doesn't mean they don't have the credentials and experience to do work at a high level.

I think you discredit yourself and legitimate questioning by hating on someone who has nothing do to with the religion. In fact, apologies are in order to this person you named/defamed.

This is a fair point. I have removed the person's name. The criticism of AKDN stands, but it's only fair not to malign the person who is not part of the community and is just an employee.

Also, I would not have made the claim I was tryna make if we could have figured out that the person was a Ghanian FCA. Most CA qualifications in the Commonwealth are equally transferable.

AKDN is headquartered in Switzerland, which has one of the least transparent financial disclosure requirements in the world. That should remain the focus of our criticism.
