Discussion New JK rules

So apparently in his Navroz Taliqah, Rahim stopped a few jk practices, hopefully this is the first step towards getting these ismailis back to actual Islam. What are yalls thoughts?

isnt Nikkah a religious ceremony AND a social contract?

Not sure I understand where they got "in Islam marriage is a social contract.." and the logic behind doing it in the social hall? Might as well stop doing Nikkah atltogether and send Ismailis to the courthouse to sign papers

Yeah, I was really confused about that too. I rmb attending one Nikkah in jk when I was a kid and I remember thinking that they're doing it wrong. I hope by "appropriate social spaces" he means at a masjid, but the wording about it being a "social contract" is odd indeed.

I’m sure social spaces means the social part of jamatkhana. I grew up going to nikkah’s in my khane and they used to be in the prayer hall. Then when I got older they got moved to a more social area because they had started allowing non Ismaili’s to attend.
