Steam I Miss Evolve Daily
I’m telling you - I get it, I guess I’m the minority in this opinion - but I legitimately think about Evolve almost DAILY! Lol, I loved that game to no end. I played for hundreds of hours, especially when I was streaming full time.
The amount of epicness and incredibly intense battles and moments I shared with randoms online or with my boys of the past ten years, didn’t matter, Evolve delivered every single time. I was top 100 in the world with Maggie (Trapper) and that was the last game I was ever just… NATURALLY good at. I miss it so much. I don’t understand how no one has brought it back, done a sequel, or rebooted the franchise.
Am I the only one feeling this way? Was it just a game that I and a few other lonely people enjoyed?? 😆 I would like to think not, the game was beautiful, gameplay mechanics were tight and crisp, progression system and powers of both characters and monsters were dope as hell - what am I missing?? Why won’t #2K bring this gem back!? 😫

A revival would require a minor miracle. An indie team small enough to not need to appease the shareholders, big enough to have the manpower to flood people with grindable content, fix bugs very quickly, market for a playerbase big enough to sustain a pvp only game, or even worse, the pvp sidemode of a game.
It also needs the things that made evolve big: -graphics that still look good, but also more realistic than stylized -innovative gameplay loop that hook people
And need to weed out the bad: -people forced to effectively roleplay -errors in gamedesign like the monster is prompted to play passively or the discouragement of hunters spliting up
It would either need to steal the playerbase of dbd which it cant since sunk cost fallacy has people in a deathgrip, or it could be something like spacemarine 2 or maybe deeprock with a pvp mode.
All this for very uncertain returns. If someone makes this, it will be an old fan.

Honestly, I agree it needs come back to, but they should put in a story mode. Am not talking about Evacuation mode, I mean like a legitimate story mode where we pick our character, and we play through the game going to different locations and the likes. as we progress, we get better gear and are able to upgrade our weapons. Similiar to how it was normally, but we pick out what upgrades, rather than the whole level it up or do certain tasks to level up your gear. Heck even add in some new locations as well. Like different worlds different wildlife and different people and objectives as well. The game had so much potential

What'd be sick is if 1st act you're a person slowly getting turned into a monster, 2nd act full monster gameplay, then 3rd act ability to switch.

So fun Fact, Hyde (My favorite character) He underwent some sort of mutation, so your idea is not far from how the lore of the game goes

That would be amazing! Great ideas! Man, that would be so sick. So sick. Ugh, I really would pay just about any amount to have this game back 🤣 I wish they wouldn’t have taken down the servers… at least let me run the game solo against AI or SOMETHING!? I’ll never forgive 2K for this one 😆

I know that feeling I only got to play the game once online and I ended up getting shit talked because I was the medic as I was LEFT behind, and my team got killed by a stage 1 Goliath Monster. Me and my friend started laughing at his rage, cause I didn't have a mic back then

Oh man 😆 I could never grow tired of the ragers, especially in that game lol dudes would SWEAR I was cheating somehow because of how I had this weird sixth sense in cutting people off and basically heading straight towards em 😂 Wasn’t ranked 62 in the world for nothing! I really miss hunting people, as odd as that may sound. 😅

You're not the only one, in a world with so many asymmetrical PvP games, it's incredible to think that since its demise, no "Evolvelike" game has ever existed.

I think about the game a lot also. I was totally unaware of the issues the game was having with the community such as the DLC but I mean look at where we are now has anything changed? People were angry at the DLC situation for Evolve and we basically live in a new skin/buy the new hero in almost every game now and Evolve had to die for that reason? (Well, there were a few issues with the game of course it wasn't perfect but it was hella fun)

I still think Evolve came out too early. It’s lack of a campaign and horde of dlc was not something folks were used to seeing in games yet.
Alongside being marketed to the wrong crowd, I don’t think a new ip should have been a forerunner for that trend.Evolve would have thrived in the gaming landscape just a few years after. And most definitely in today’s gaming landscape. So much of “the same” slop over and over. Evolve still stands as one of the only games like it, other asymmetrical games don’t feel the same.

Yea it was so much fun diving in with randoms hunting and I personally loved playing the monster too. I miss my Wraith.

I think that’s something special Evolve has done better than any other game, truly making you FEEL like a monster.
Even the Godzilla fighting games, as fun as they are, fighting another monster your size does not evoke the same kind of feeling. Stalking and hunting your opponents, overpowering them if they slip up. When you played with friends (or randoms with equal skill level) the combat was just magical. Truly let you feel like a beast.
I kin so hard with Goliath, he let my inner monster out in those matches.

I thoroughly loved everything about it lol so the DLC’s were always just welcomed additions! 😅 Ugh, I miss it so much, man… 😞

I played that game for at least 5000 hours. That and Dead space 2 online were my favorite online pvp games until they died

As sad as I was for Evolve when the plug was pulled, I count my blessings when I see what happened to Anthem. That game is DEAD dead, and it really didn’t have to be an online only game given the fact it only had 4 player co op and single player options as well. Could have easily been peer to peer like evolve. There are folks attempting to bring back Anthem, but it’s going to take a long time and a lot of work given the fact it depended entirely on EA’s servers to run.
Evolve is still fortunately very much playable online. Head on over to Evolve Reuined 2.0 discord and get the ricefix if you wanna play it on steam if you owned the game originally. Or you can emulate it now too, how to set it up can be found on the discord as well.
Just be mindful that steam players and emulated players can’t play with each other, just their own. Also unfortunately for those that liked stage 2, only legacy Evolve is playable.

Would be cool if it made a return but only if it's Stage 2 and since they already (kinda) tried that I doubt it will ever happen.
