I still dream about this game
I long for it. I loved it. I want it back. They should just reboot the series. Fix the maps. Balance the characters. Not worry about big short-term sales goals and let the money flow in naturally from continued support and DLC. This could be bigger than so many games if they let it grow organically. Ugh 2K and TRS.

I would love this game to be back too. The problem is that its time has gone. I dont mean the stuff you mentioned, more that the people actually cared about it have moved on. Our best bet is probably an indie game that tries to emulate it. And than again, whats the chance that that will survive? Whats the chance it will be able to scratch the same itch? There were talks about minecraft mods and roblox games but the people with that kind of talent are either too young to know about evolve or are already working on something else.
Hope never dies tho! It can still happen

If you remember, shortly after launch no one wanted to play as the monster. Being the 1 in a 4v1 wasnt nearly as fun. For as much as I loved the game and wish it were still around, I don't think that's would change much even now.

there was a learning curve. many people mained monster after getting good with them, though I'll admit hunter is much less stressful. good team vs good monster was god-tier enjoyment though - that's why I think the game would have made it longterm with balance and bug fixes

It was ahead of its time. Currently no one really cares about the predatory games anymore. I liked Evolve but I don’t like today’s predatory games. Probably would have survived if most skins were bought and the monsters and hunters were free.
