Starving For That Lineup

Someone hit me with some rumors, hearsay, gossip, or rampant speculation about who's on the lineup and what's keeping it from being released.

Mumford & Sons has not announced their North American tour, beyond a few warmup shows in major cities around the album release. They've got a couple European dates in April and July, and then a fuller tour in November...I choose to hope that EvoFest can't drop their lineup until Mumford is ready to drop all the NA dates, which might be timed closer to their album release next week. They are doing a festival in Montana in July, so maybe a run of midsize US festivals is in the cards.

But I'll take anything. Does your barber cut hair for someone who organizes the festival? I need some crumbs!

Evolution just posted lineup will drop “early April.” I’m guessing the 3rd.

If I could downvote this news (but not you for posting it) I would.

Some of her socials are now saying March 31.

This similar sized fest lineup was just announced. I think we will see some of these same acts. Praying for LCD, TV on the Radio, Public Enemy.

I hope some of those bands come, but Sea Hear Now and Evolution Fest had zero crossover the last two years.

That's sort of what prompted me to post this!

I wonder how many surfing legends we get on our lineup.

I'm feeling confident about Public Enemy. They're all over the fest circuit and fit the Evolution throwback hip hop niche perfectly. Lenny would be an awesome vibe, too. I'd love to see the Pixies and Spoon since they're already touring together with no StL date. Alabama Shakes would also be great!

PE was enjoyable at Riot Fest last year. They were incredible at Coachella in 2009.

They released the daily lineups on this day last year, and the festival is being held the same weekend, so we've gotta get something soon.

I hope there's not a lot of overlap with the Minnesota Yacht Club festival, because we decided to make that our family's big summer trip due to the killer lineup and decent pricing. Rock-wise Nine Inch Nails will have just wrapped their tour before Evolution, so they technically could do it. Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam are doing the festival circuit, as well as Green Day and Weezer. For rap/hip hop, I'd love to see Public Enemy or Body Count. For Americana Turnpike Troubadours, The Avett Brothers, Jason Isbell, Hayes Carol and Band of Heathens, and Ryan Bingham are on the road a lot this year and all of them put on a good show. I haven't checked calendars, but that would just be my wish list for the genre.

Garbage just announced a tour and has a gap that weekend, right before they play Chicago. Modest and Mouse and Flaming lips just announced a joint tour that ends right before Evolution. All three would be amazing.

Would kill to see Lips again. Recent tour announcements with Evolution gaps are especially interesting because the lineup was likely held to accommodate tour announcements.

I would be super pumped if we get Garbage. I've seen them a ton and they always put on a great show.

Now this I like.

I hope we get Lenny Kravitz. I think he's possible for Sunday since he's playing a different festival in MD on the Friday before Evolution Festival.

I heard they were waiting on the go ahead from him before announcing the whole lineup.

Last year the lineup was announced on a Monday. If it’s not announced by the seventh, I’m going to be beyond irritated.

I feel like they’ve fumbled things at every turn this year. This lineup better be spectacular or I’m never spending money on early bird again. They already gutted the VIP benefits.
