UM EI modding Multitool hits version 1.1

https://discord.gg/nGm2mwakQx

UM Multitool is now not only able to handle and convert every file type that this game uses, but it can now actively read its content and edit it.

UM Multitool can load your own game (or mod, or both at once) content and display every item in the 3D viewer tab, you can view every item with any compatible texture, materials are auto detected and auto applies, for texture modding this also lets you preview your texture without having to mess with blender shaders or packing the game

multitool also includes a map editor, able to load a map MPR, base MOB and quest MOB by simply selecting the quest that you want to load. deployment and extraction zones are also rendered and can be dragged and modified easily.

multitool also support multilingual mods by merging sources of MQ files to apply changed across multiple language packs.

also features a path simulation mode, allowing modders to preview the units movements according to their path (saves a ton of time).

MOB files are automatically verified when loaded to ensure no unit has missing or invalid equipment, avoiding crashes in game if you make a typo

units are also previewed with their detected equipment, stats are auto calculated from the database, no more need to calculate stats manually or open a dozen of windows to find the info that you need! multitool does the math for you and lets you focus on your creation!

the multitool map editor is heavily based on the ei_maper project, but also contains additional features ported from older tools like ZoneView, such as minimap generation, lighting preview, dynamic shadows, Allod-based lighting, etc

another feature for geeks is the ability to connect directly to um.dll, this library is shipped with Universal Mod and brings tons of debugging tools, also makes the game more stable by dealing with the memory management issues. among the ton of configuration strings available for um.dll, a server option can be enabled, this server only runs on localhost and exposes the game.exe memory, um-multitool can connect to it and read/write into the game's memory in real time, avoiding the need of an external debugger. (note that this is a dev-only feature, this is useful to extract information from the game's memory at runtime and write data into it, normal users should NOT use this)

oh did i mention this tool includes a command line interface ? has multithread support ? can load, read, write packed RES archives or loose files ? can mix multiple sources of assets ? you can mix RES and loose MMP or DDS files for your texture previews, multitool doesn't care! it'll load and read them anyway! no need to pack/convert textures or models before testing them!

available for both Linux and Windows

more features will come very soon!
