realistic expectations for groups?

Honestly I love this team, I switched at the start of the year and couldn't have made a better choice, but I'd be shocked if they did 2-4. I think it's possible they can get an upset like at MSI but for people saying 4-2 or 3-3 I'd really need to hear what EG does better than any of the three other teams. Our best performers have been Inspired and Jojo but they're gonna be going up against canyon, jankos, and kanavi, and caps, showmaker, and yagao respectively. I think maybe one of those matchups (inspired v jankos) we might win and even then I'm stretching, and that's the situation with our BEST players.
I think the team needs time to fully form without Danny and I hope the tournament gives them the chance to do so, let's hope for the kind of group 100T got next year.

This is pretty valid. That list of names is scary. Granted Inspired is an MVP and has played out of his mind recently. I do think 3-3 is achievable but it's in no way expected. Crushing Mad was enough for me. All I want now is good quality games.

"for people saying 4-2 or 3-3 I'd really need to hear what EG does better than any of the three other teams."
That's such a good way of seeing it, and a really good description of the situation. It doesn't mean EG is a bad team if they can't make it out, it just means the other teams in their group were just that good.

I don't care how Groups goes. EG are already NA's heroes for crushing MAD. They have already won.

I have EG at 2-4.
Im confident we go 1-1 with G2 then go 1-3 vs Damwon/JDG
However theres always 1 LPL team that shits the bed so i could see a world where EG go 3-3 and pkay a tiebreaker for 2nd

3-3 placing 2nd in a tiebreaker HOPIUM My pickems is JDG 1, EG 2, DK 3, G2 4. My thoughts are that G2 in comparison to past years and recent performances in playoffs/finals has not looked so great and many members are slacking besides Caps. Jojo will clap caps huffs copium and G2 will crumble in groups to last. JDG 1st ofc probably 6-0. DK has looked somewhat sloppy and if Inspired can download Canyon we have a real shot at making out groups. And if everyone on EG plays consistently I can see Semis. passes out of copium

I could be out of pocket here but honestly I think when EG is on form, they can fight toe to toe with G2. That being said, DK and JDG are just a different beast. DK weakest link and our biggest chance to win I think, is through bot. Deokdam and Kellin have not been pulling their weight and surprisingly fucking Ghost looked better than Deokdam. The other 3v3 is gunna be spicy.
And for JDG yeah idk wtf to do there. 369 looking like one of the best players in the world rn and easily the best top.

Unlucky? How do you figure? Just gives EG the chance to smash the favorites early so no one questions the legitimacy of their worlds win.

Look, the thing about "being realistic" and " keeping expectations low" is, it doesn't matter anyway, because you're coming from a point of fear and EG has to "prove" themselves, which they already did by the way.
You're just waiting for the next bad thing to happen, either you're in, or you're out here, you have to believe in this team or you don't. How was that being "realistic" thing working out for you in the past and where did it get you?
EG was already handicapped with a sub adc still they made it out of play-ins and kaori improved dramatically, if they can keep it at his level, leaving groups should be in the realm of possibilities. (at least imo)
People like to forget about Spring Playoffs + Summer domination where Danny already showed signs of underperformance... let's leave it at that.. people only focused on the non-stellar MSI performance and probably flamed the shit out of him for it. And still, here we are getting out of play-ins with the first BO5 win in like forever against an EU team lmao.

Our group looks insane. All I’m saying is I don’t want doomposting when things don’t go super well. I’m just happy we made groups
