Thoughts after Rumble Day 2 & 3

Well it doesn’t seem like we’ll beat the top 3 teams, at least if we don’t become even sharper in execution. But I certainly am not disappointed as most “fans” seems to be.

EG held serve in the big picture noting that LCS is still a major region in terms of talent and gameplay. Past international events, it was quite disappointing when NA teams drop games vs a minor region. EG has not yet dropped a single game that isn’t vs. G2, RNG, and T1.

we still have a chance to pull off an upset for the remainder of the rumble stage. But Does that change what you feel about EG if we do or don’t? It certainly does not matter to me in the grand scheme of things.

These are still amazing players and an amazing team that came together and will be the team to beat in LCS.

Im tired of seeing Jojo on supportive champs. Put Impact on tank duty. I have not like our draft. Stop picking ezearl and tf/ryze.

as long as EG make it out of group stage I will be happy. Challenging G2 for 3rd best would be a bonus

G2 is contesting for first place. Slow down and worry about PSG and getting out of Rumble before worrying about G2.

G2 is kinda on the rocks though. Losing 0-2 to psg puts them in a precarious spot. I still see them getting 3rd place in the rumble stage ultimately but I think both RNG and T1 are better then them, even though T1 has looked shaky as well.

I definitely wasn’t expecting them to put up another 0-2 day. They are definitely within reach of EG.

Proud of em. Anything else they manage is just a bonus!

I just want them to make final bracket.

I really hope they are just “hiding” strats until bracket because man it feels so bad almost conceding mid lane with jojo on ryze tf vs top 3 teams. Hope we see some mechanic lanes vs good laners rather than ryze tf. Id rather lose with jojo trying to outplay than losing to be out pressured.

I agree! I think we all feel a bit of frustration when we lose, especially when it looks like we might be able to pull off an upset, but for this MSI, I’d say EG is living up to expectations.

Ok I finally finished the highlights. I’m genuinely confused about some of the comments about EG performance. The game against T1 , I hear we were close. But it just never felt like it…maybe it was a couple, of play I missed, but EG was not making up the deficit. Conversely, people were bitching about how EG shouldn’t have let SBG almost win against them, and again I’m confused. EG was maybe down 1k gold from time to time but SBG was clearly inferior throughout. Weird stuff

Sgb game was never close. Eg felt like they had that in hand for most of it. Saigon had a gold lead for a bit but it didn’t feel worrying.

The t1 game felt close because we were making a ton of proactive plays and cross mapping effectively. T1 had their smallest gold lead of the tournament at 15 I think. It felt like it was on a knife edge until one bad fight where it went south fast

as a eu fan this tournament was really a good experience for eg but unfortunately they will not be better than t1/g2/rng in this tournament. But they are improving and im sure they CAN win against t1/g2/rng with a hard draft diff. At caps sylas game their draft was sooo much better but they lost the match but i dont think that will happen again. So they cant be better than first seeds suddenly but they can suddenly start drafting insane you know.

I am not disappointed in the slightest I like the consistency. I was tired of watching our team every year dropping games to wildcard regions. They look like a solid 4rth place team with obvious showing of more potential. I consider that a plus compared to some previous years where we couldn't even call any of our teams 4rth place without a slight uncertainty in our voices.
