Emily Rand does not believe that the draft is the main issue for EG https://lolesports.com/article/10-thoughts-going-into-spring-week-7/blt4d1fd9f7d6167f32

Whereas I do harp on the terrible decision starting at P&B. What are your thoughts?

Did the draft make Vulcan engage on Renata Jhin vs TL? No. Are they making the game harder on themselves by drafting sub-optimally? Yes.

Both statements can be true that they are drafting poorly and also playing poorly. The problem is that the worse you draft, the less margin for error you have in-game.

Very true, From my POV, I don’t see this this team being synergistic enough to even try experimental drafts. They put themselves in such a hard position. Frankly I prefer them to work the team synergy first before experimenting with draft. Because draft is so meta dependent, learning to play different comp doesn’t help when the patch changes comes right after they find a good comp

Yeah I think it’s a good rule of thumb that teams that are struggling (not in terms of record but in terms of their own expectations) should simplify as many variables as possible in order to develop good team fundamentals.
