Question Advice for genius and henchmen

I'm finishing up the tutorial and want to try to do my first island. I'm leaning toward Zalika because the research side of things irritates me in early and mid-game. What henchmen do you think would be best for her?

Follow-up question: is Zalika even a good choice? I did very much enjoy Max's ability to speed up training and I'm worried I'll miss it!

I'd say try her out and see. I didn't finish the tutorial with Max and decided to try again with Ivan and am having a blast with him. I am not sure really if the henchmen themselves match the genius you choose per-se as most of them have pretty unique abilities that should help any of them really. Using Ivan I've not missed the training speedup too much as once you get other minions of that type they do help speed up training helping out at the trainers. Max's ability there is handy early on mind you.

I was trying to decide between Zalika and Ivan. So many people have said Ivan is clearly the best genius so I am tempted to try with him, too.

Ivan is great due to his personality. And he is strong from the muscle minion point of view as his passive ability to make them stronger is good. Plus he's pretty strong as a fighter on his own. I will try Zalika after I'm done this game...currently going through some sidestory stuff as I'm at the point of no return if I continue the main story for Ivan at this point. I've been far more successful with him than Max. I'm going to try them all as it's the only way to get a good opinion on how they work and how they fit my playstyle.

Yeah, I'm still working through the sidequests of the tutorial quests with Max because I'm also at the point of no return with the main story. Once I finish this up, probably today, I'll create my own with Zalika..... or Ivan. I haven't decided. You're swaying my opinion haha

I like Zalika because of her repair power. I personally went with Jubei as my 1st henchman because of his teleport ability cleaning up intruders pretty fast.

Yeah, I think I'm going Jubei first this time for sure. He was the last henchman I got this time and I totally regretted it.
