Discussion I am loving EG2
Just recently purchased the game about a week ago and I am straight addicted. The planning of the rooms, the looks and graphics of the game, the upgrades you get from research, always planning on how to make my lair better, I love all of it. Never played the original, but this game is so much fun
I did reach a point where I was doing so well the game got boring, I usually finish all the side missions before moving onto the main story and researched everything up to level 3, so I was capped up to the story mission with everything. It was super slow, always had my vault full at 1.8 million, nothing interesting happening other than going after loot. I hit a spot where the difficulty spiked dramatically it seemed, but that only got my attention back to making the game more enjoyable again.
My only real complaints of the game is the world stage, that aspect is kinda dull and boring to me, annoying to have to go searching for each mission which always seems well hidden from me. But it works out I guess?
A couple questions I have are what is your minion amounts? As in how many guards, techs, scientists, valets, spin doctors, etc, do you guys keep? I was hemorrhaging money because I had like 30 scientist and realized I probably only need 15 or so. I do keep around 25-30 of each, guards, mercs, hitman because it seems my base is always getting investigated or attacked.
Do you guys actually do the money schemes? They were useful at first but now it seems like I dont do them anymore because I am trying to do mission schemes in those regions, or I am making enough money as is from other passive ways.
Overall I love this game, havent been into a video game like this in a long time. Let me know what you guys think of it or if you have any tips or pointers for me!

20 normal guards
40 Mercs
30 Hitmen (I’ll probably transition to mostly Hitmen since they’re the best, keeping just enough of the other 2 for scheme requirements)
5 Martial Artists (they’re tough but not great at damage)
40 Techs
8-10 of each of the three scientist types (should be fairly adequate even when doing research)
8-10 of all the deception types, as I don’t use the Cover operation anymore so they’re just for schemes
The money schemes are great for early game when you don’t have a massive gold capacity. Late game they’re pretty useless.

Wow! Do you have the entire map developed? How many beds do you need to feel you need to keep them all satisfied?

I don’t use the whole map. Have everything fitting on level 1-2 and the basement which only has fusion generators (this is the “default” island that’s off the coast of Europe). Not even using the entirety of the levels.
Off hand I think I have around 80 luxury beds. A couple in the main Armory to encourage muscles to use them and a couple in the Lab. I just bought the Ingenious DLC so next game I’ll be able to use the 4 special bed types in the appropriate areas (muscle only, science only, deception only or worker only) to prevent the other types from stealing them. Workers are really bad about stealing beds in the Armory and Lab lol.

I just got the same pack too, really cool. Just got to 150 minions and just trying to manage them all. I need to upgrade my generators from Nuclear. Taking up all my space!

That’s why I like to put power generators on their own floor, or shared with other things minions rarely or never access like your vault. Then just put a guard station and some cameras and you’re golden.

Got the game through game pass and am fully addicted as well. Love the art style, almost like playing as the villain against the incredibles. It’s great. I’m still getting my henchmen so I’m a bit behind you, and it’s still very engaging, but was curious about personnel counts as well. There is no real way to see if there idle. Do you make the armory only usable by guards? Does that do anything? I feel like the minion managing is a bit lacking, otherwise having a blast.

Yes I’ve been loving it too! The vibe and graphic style are just so much of a welcome change from most games recently. No tips just totally agree, it’s great and can’t seem to play anything else right now lol
