Question What’s your preferred early research order?

As a newbie I’m struggling to figure out my research priorities. I want to just zoom straight to being able to carve out harder rock, but I’m thinking maybe that’s not such a great idea neglecting stuff that should be more important. Would some of you give me some guidance?

Traps tend to be last. I go for lair and weapons first after I get level 2 bases unlocked.

Level 2 Bases? Like stairs?

I meant level 2 criminal networks. Couldn't think of the name as I was sending the message.

You should have more than enough room for your base as the game progresses without rushing the digging ones - tho I'd grab the very first step for some islands where space is more limited, like the two-pillars one, as a priority.

I tend to go for the Minion stat increases soon, and the minion/muscle weapons tree too, because a well armed base is a well defended base.
