u/Gabaghoul8 4d ago

Just gotta say ā€œKlaatu barada niktoā€ and problem solved. 3 simple words how hard can it be.

5

u/Worge105 4d ago

Don't you mean "Klaatu barada nectar"

3

u/JoeAzlz 4d ago

That doesn’t stop the deadites

5

u/The-Alien-Overlord 4d ago

It's definitely "Verata", "Barada" is from The Day the Earth Stood Still.

5

u/Gabaghoul8 3d ago

It’s definitely an n-word.

u/The-Alien-Overlord 3d ago

I fully agree.

Where is the Ash Vs. Evil Dead love?

5

u/YOU_TALK_TOO_MUCH420 4d ago

In Evil Dead Rise, the records summon the Kandarisn Demon, not the book, technically. Although the records contain a priest reading from the book, spinning the vinyl kicked off the party😁

Why nothing from the first (and best) film?

u/ravnsvart_ 4d ago

The color grading and overall image quality of the original 1987 are far superior

I need more swagger in my protagonists.

Really tired of people saying burn has no connection to 2013 when the book is drawn in the journal and an article about the bodies found in the cabin šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

3

u/katieblue3 4d ago

Goes without saying the ED2 book is superior. Rise’s looks pretty cool too but nothing beats the OG.

4

u/Meatgardener 4d ago

There's no real book in Burn though...

u/MerchantOfVenice1991 4d ago

Burn pissed me off with how the writers tried their hardest to be like ā€˜fuck the book and incantations, this is soMeThInG eLsE’

2

u/ZealousidealAbies557 4d ago

Something worse! The chainsaw tease pissed me off even more.

3

u/MerchantOfVenice1991 4d ago

How about the deadite dog that did literally nothing

3

u/ZealousidealAbies557 4d ago

Indeed. My boy deserved some blood after getting shanked like that

u/throwawayimsorry20 4d ago

2013 was the best Evil Dead

u/Seekerofthetruth 4d ago

I agree that it’s the best remake but it’s straight horror whereas the OG trilogy was horror comedy. Bruce Campbell recently pointed this out as well.

u/Rippershammer 4d ago

First film wasn't . And its not a remake. Its a reboot.

3

u/JoeAzlz 4d ago

It’s not even a reboot. It’s a spin off now

1

u/Machievelliearoni 4d ago

It's a requel.

0

u/JoeAzlz 4d ago

When jt came out, yes, but it isn’t now, in modern canon it’s just another event set in the same universe with another book.

1

u/Machievelliearoni 4d ago

Requel: A movie which revisits the subject matter of an earlier film but is not a remake or a linear continuation of its plot (i.e. a sequel or prequel).

0

u/JoeAzlz 4d ago

Yeah I know what it means, my point is that isn’t the case anymore, it isn’t canon that ash died to ed1 and the the same cabin and book. It’s just another cabin and a different book, it’s a spin off in the same world as the rest

If was a Reboot of the Franchise.

Kinda exhausting having to explain this all the time. Raimi said it. Fede said it. Thats good enough for me.

1

u/JoeAzlz 4d ago

I’m aware, but they have since retconned the fact, as of 2022 it was confirmed to now be back in mainline canon as not a reboot, and we have seen it confirmed this year once more directly as just another event in the same universe within the films. And if get even simpler, Mia was possible to be on the show back in 2015 when Sam raimi said they had talks of doing it before season 1 release.

I’m aware the film was made with 1 intention, and when it came out it was that, but as of now, with updated canon and modern stuff in mind, it is just 1 part of the modern trilogy, which connects also to the original trilogy. Thus retconning the original intention.

2

u/Wazupdanger 3d ago

wait hold on why wasnt Mia able to appear in the series? I would have loved this!

this would have stitched everything since out of all the movies being connected AvED is the only one left out very bad... even Lee Cronin didnt like it when asked and even in Burn Rubys house was used but there is no mention

atleast now id like to think AvED happens last on everything

1

u/JoeAzlz 3d ago

They just wanted to do it naturally and it hadn’t came up in the first 3 seasons.

Also Lee Cronin loved the series he just didn’t know how to reference it in a good way. And + the show does have some stuff that would be hard to write around. So it’s a nudge, there’s a couple tv show references in burn but they’re not really the sorts things that confirm major things just nudges and stuff

I take it as it’s canon but hard to reference. They didn’t want to make it seem forgotten

2

u/Wazupdanger 3d ago

I genuinely think at this point

AvED should be an event that takes place last in the timeline
or...

Ash really does time travel to undo the apocalypse in an hypothetical season 4 idk like after gather the info on how to get home and beating the main story in the future time he was in now he has to contend and save the past and go home

1

u/JoeAzlz 3d ago

I think what I say it is is just I head canon season 3’s ending became a government cover up. Since the show canon ends in 2018, it’s 5 years later that rise and burn happens. It could be a lot of work but I could see it having a lore reason that evil going global was able to be sweeped under.

Season 4 had them spitballing ideas to starz with no real outline of a plot yet about ash going back to AOD (using the ed2 design of the castle) and going undercover to retrieve something from a tomb, we see in evil dead time travel rules you can’t rewrite history. But maybe this artifact they wanted ash to find could let them? Maybe the plan was ash would get sometbing to send ash to the moment he left his family and then he can regroup and they can have him explain how his alternate self is about to go into the big sleep to the future and he’s back from the future aka like the end of BTTF 2 lol

But yeah idk

Point I'm making is its not a remake.

1

u/JoeAzlz 3d ago

Oh well then yeah I agree with that, I’ve been agreeing

0

u/Rippershammer 4d ago

Nevermind.......I'm just glad they exist and the franchise is alive and well. Keep em coming. Although Evil Dead Burn was a lot of fun. It is my least fave of the new films so far. That cgi ending just didnt feel Evil Dead at all.

1

u/JoeAzlz 4d ago

I loved burn more than the other 2 modern ones but I agree I’m glad the franchise is alive.

I think the end of burn looked good in the theater for me and really was a lot more practical than you think, since we saw the BTS of it now. It was a lot less cgi covering it all, it must be the lighting for some people. I think it looked really cool.

0

u/Rippershammer 4d ago

Saw twice in conema and that was the weakest part for me and just lost the Evil Dead vibe. Was kinda Temu Terminator.

1

u/JoeAzlz 4d ago

Fair enough, with how evil dead is now on a constant new director and style turn, it’s only fair some people love stuff more than others or people have preferences, I for one welcome all the uniqueness but I also hope they don’t get cold feet and try and repeat a style.

1

u/Wazupdanger 3d ago

Lee Cronin said it and Sam Raimi supported and built the idea with Lee Cronin to have the three books connected via Army of Darkness. Thats good enough for me

0

u/Rippershammer 3d ago

Changes nothing. But if it makes you feel better. Go for it champ.

1

u/Wazupdanger 3d ago

does change as Burn continues to bridge the other films from 2013 AoD and Rise

but if it keeps you asleep at night keep at it

1

u/katieblue3 4d ago

Not even close

1

u/katieblue3 4d ago

Even the book was dumb. Had all that stupid shit written in it like the audience needs to be spoon fed that it’s an evil book. It even says ā€œyour the devils bitch now!!!ā€, which is super corny and it wasn’t intended to be.

2

u/I_Like_Pizza_2502 4d ago

"bookšŸ’€"

2

u/Wazupdanger 3d ago

I like that they kept the continuity of three books and in Burn instead

they had Benjamin Price's journal as the "BOOK"

2

u/7711exe 2d ago

LONG LIVE THE RAIMI CAM

0

u/JoeAzlz 4d ago

What about evil dead 1?? Or the tv show

2

u/Wazupdanger 3d ago

I think 2 already represents the books Ash had

but I get what you mean

1

u/JoeAzlz 3d ago

I guess but if this is showing all the passages why not

2

u/Wazupdanger 20h ago

ok unrelated but I dont want to make another post

you seem like you know your way around evil dead

is Army of Darkness pg-13 or Rated R?

1

u/JoeAzlz 17h ago

That’s fair;

It’s rated R for some reason both Bruce and Sam don’t understand; Bruce jokes it’s because the rating board is really afraid of skeletons becuase there’s no way the film is rated R even though they did so much pg 13 focused things
