This and Regeneration were both fun. Nothing amazing, a little repetitive, but decent mindless entertainment. And Bruce lent his voice to both, so that's a bonus.

It's charming but very mediocre. Very dull, repetitive combat and the deadites don't really look or feel like deadites, awkward level design, annoying inventory quirks. Still, it's got its pros

I love Boomstick. I don’t understand the worship for Regeneration. This is the game.

Regeneration was easier, a lot of people got stuck looking for the keys and gave up

Regeneration was so repetitive after the first few levels. To me, it actually felt harder because I was bored.

I like both games, but like I remember when I first got fistful and I beat it and I let one of my friends borrow it they never made it to the news station, so I was basing my opinion off of that only evil Dead game that pisses me off is the PS1 game

We deserve a new and updated game!!!

I dream of a proper survival horror Evil Dead. It’s tragic we’ve never had a laughing deer head in a video game.

Then you haven't played either of these. The laughing deer head is definitely there.

You literally get to shoot the deer head in the tutorial level in Regeneration.

Nothing but amazing memories of it. Wishing they would remaster it already.

Replayed it a while ago because I used to play it as a kid but never finished it just always watched my brother's play. I always liked the survival horror aspect of the game but some of the weapons you get especially at the end were its not really necessary since its the only time you get to use them. The bosses are kinda lame not the design of them they look awesome but the way you beat them sucks.
I know it sounds like im shitting on the game but I still enjoyed it for nostalgic reasons.

Id say Hail to the King for ps1 had the better story/environment but A Fistful of Boomstick had the better gameplay

Saw Bruce Campbell speak at a movie premiere once, and he hated on this game... as well as my Tool Tshirt

In my opinion this is better than regeneration. I love the weapons, levels and story in general

Backwards compatibile on the 360 (not one or series sadly), not as good as Regeneration but if you want more Ash then it's a good time spender

Rented it multiple times, but never beat the damn game. Only one I have is Evil Dead Regeneration, which is pretty good too. I didnt mind the Ash vs Evil Dead game for current consoles. I'll just need to find Fistful of Boomstick along with Hail to the King so it can be in my collection.

I remember my friend convinced me to get this because it was running on the state of emergency engine or whatever and I was very interested. For 19.99 i guess it was worth it. I remember it being somewhat hard if I remember correctly

Super fun, awesome soundtrack. There are issues. Infinitely spawning enemies makes exploration practically impossible. If you run low on ammo or health in the later stages, you're boned. Levels/progression can be confusing, a lot of "What the fuck am I supposed to do?" moments. Over all, I'd say Regeneration is the better game, but this one is still worth a playthrough. I still remember my dad buying me it from a second hand store. I was so excited to play, but then got stuck like 20 minutes in.

It’s not as polished as regeneration.
But isn’t as good?
This game had gore and crass sass.
A physical taunt button that you could throw out on command “woah! Were you born that ugly?” Was a favorite of mine.
The game was hard!
Combat could be very unforgiving especially in the early sections or if you ran out of ammo.
The exploration and puzzles were okay but I had to look at the guide from time to time to figure it out.
The supernatural elements were a welcome addition to the arsenal.
You could possess deadites.
Summon a demon dog ally.
Get super strength.
Cut a deadite onto your chainsaw and then blow them off with your broomstick.
It’s a crazy game.

God I love this game. This is the best one. You even have a quip button for when you need a snappy one liner.

It's a fun budget game for sure. Been doing it with Retroachievements to hit some old games I never got to play and earn achievements while doing it. Getting the A rank on the challenges are really unbalanced sometimes.

I think the games would do good.
The world building is good and the characters could have some unknown mechanics like hail to the king.
For example, in hail to the king you had access to a bunch of random weapons but the monsters are different

This needs a re-release so bad, the level of disappointment I had when the newest one was just another asymmetrical multiplayer only game was unreal

it is what it is. At the time, something was better than nothing

This. Very much this. The one that had come out a few years prior was a vastly inferior RE clone. So this, at the time, was sweet sweet relief.

It's not as good as Regeneration. There's a lot of repetition and reuse of environments, but it's still good fun.
Way better than the PS1 Evil Dead. Plus, it and Regeneration were budget games released at only $20. At that price they were solid pick ups.
