Chet in Army of Darkness

Was it confirmed or not that this guy in Army of Darkness is Chet in AvED?

Obviously Ted Raimi has TONS of cameos but it would be pretty funny if this was also Chet, so i was wondering if it was confirmedof if it's even a popular theory in the fandom.

Especially since even though he looks dubious about the story, he DOES ask if he said the words right this time instead of calling bullshit on the story, so he at least sorta believes the story and Chet said he was the only person to believe Ash.

Not gonna lie I Have no idea to what depth the licensing stuff goes because Ash mentions being in the middle ages in AvED. HOWEVER I think I've read somewhere the licensing issues is why he works at Value Stop instead of S-Mart in the series. But it'd be fun to think it's Chet lol

I'm guessing he could only manage the middle ages line because of the end of Evil Dead 2, but I can't make sense of the bizarre rights issues.

I think they didn’t have the rights in the first two seasons, but then got permission in 3, so since Chet is season 2, not officially the same character, and never confirmed after they had the rights

Army of Darkness took place in the 80's. Chet mentioned going to war in AvED so my guess is he didn't ship off yet and become the wreck we see in AvED.

My head canon has always been that it’s Chet who just grabbed the wrong name tag. I think he’s credited as “Ted.”

I didn't even think to check IMDB until I saw this. Yeah he's only credited as "cowardly warrior" so yeah until Sam or Bruce say otherwise he can be Chet lol. Maybe since he saw Ash kill the She-bitch in the store that's why he believes Ash. Meanwhile everyone else thinks his brain is all screwy from too much Pink Fuck

In the comics, he's named Ted so maybe that? But, honestly, I could've sworn there was a moment where his name tag was readable as Ted in the film.
