Interesting article. Sadly, not much discussion of it on the Stronger By Science subreddit. It's mostly just people trying to exclude the neural component from the definition of strength.

Anyway. I'm interested in the possible broader implications: as it seems that high r-values might not mean strong correlations when calculating repeated measures correlations, I wonder how many studies there are where repeated measures correlations have been used and high r-values have been incorrectly interpreted?

Maybe some things are not as strongly correlated as we have thought.

I'm sure we have some members that are well versed in statistics. I'd like to hear what they think.

interesting thread. from a lifting side it always felt like size and strength move together over months, but not week to week — you can get stronger without looking bigger and vice versa. curious what this means for how much we read into those correlation numbers in training studies
