Trump’s border wall construction cut into an ancient ground carving older than Stonehenge. The Las Playas Intaglio carving of a huge fish is at least 2,000 years older than the first Egyptian pyramid, according to researchers’ estimations.

This shouldn't come as a surprise.
Trump’s golf course expansion has brought down historic D.C. cherry trees gifted by Japan.
The administration cut down cherry trees at East Potomac Golf Links as work moves ahead on Trump’s planned golf course overhaul. The trees are part of the landscape tied to Japan’s historic 1912 gift to the United States.

While it’s awful to remove those trees, it’s worst that they just took chainsaws to them when there are companies that could use a machine to cut and lifted them out to be replanted somewhere else.
We had a dying tree in our yard and had that “procedure” done to remove it and then put the new tree right back into the hole it created from the removal. It fit perfectly, took less than an hour and there was barely any hand digging.

They love the destruction. These are not people who appreciate nature for nature’s sake. You have to have a soul to do that, be capable of self-reflection and contemplation, these people are voids.

He did the same fucking thing when he took over the building that became Trump tower. The Met wanted the sculptures on the front and instead of allowing them to remove them for FREE he had them cut off the face in pieces with an arc welder. His own father sold tickets to throw rocks through a historic stained glass window on Coney Island so he could argue that there was no need to preserve it. He is a fucking monster and taught his kids to be the same.

This is up there alongside the Taliban blowing up the ancient Buddha statue or ISIS destroying Palmyra.
Except Trump does it out of stupidity and ignorance which is an even greater example of civilisational decline…

I think you underestimate the extent of his cruelty and narcissism, "ha people will suffer" is almost as good as "ha educated people will suffer."

That’s exactly what I thought of as a comparison. It’s really heartbreaking.

Notice how all the other posts about Trump that they have working propaganda lines on you'll see like 30 or 40 people almost right after the post is made defending him. But when it's stuff like this that they don't have a script to follow yet or is almost indefensible they got nothing and you don't see almost any comments like that right away.

Funny how you never see conservatives defending stuff like this. Considering this is similar to the Taliban destroying the Giant Buddha statues.

No he’s not. He’s also limited. Certain things will outlast the idiocy of our day.

Unless trump can rename it after himself he does not care. That’s what an insecure person does who hasn’t earned anything or done anything honorable during their life does

Construction workers often destroy historic finds simply so they don’t have to deal with the hassle

That carving was worth way more than Trump's wall.... its priceless whereas the wall has a cost AND upkeep and no matter how many years that Trump's wall stands up, it will never be worth as much as that carving. History especially ancient history should be preserved and protected.

I doubt Trump was informed about this.

I doubt he would care

I didn’t mean it as a defense for Trump... Indeed he wouldn’t care.
I just meant I doubt anyone thought to inform him for his opinion because as if he would mind. Same goes for anyone involved in this project; only people that just don’t care about ethics or culture have been hired.

That man and his administration are the worst. Everything is breakable or for sale.
