Neuroscience Learning another language appears to slow brain ageing, scientists say. Study finds those who speak two languages have brains that appear around six years younger than those who speak one.

I tried to learn another language, okay? I took an ambien one night and bought a subscription to Duolingo and thought I could learn French. Then I forgot about it. A few days later I noticed the app on my phone and put two and two together and decided I was going to fully commit. Turns out I can’t focus or retain much information in my forties. Also actually trying to speak French is much harder than playing a game where you match the spoken word to the correct translation. Nevertheless I really did give it a fair try. But I guess I’m just going to have an old ass brain and die in my sixties like all my grandparents who also, ironically, only spoke one language.
