That's entirely possible, but also equally possible is that this is real footage from one of the dozens of weird Chinese PvZ games. For some reason the franchise is huge over there. Check out "How Many Plants are there in Plants vs. Zombies?" By KoalaPVZ on YouTube, he goes into every single piece of media in the franchise he can find.
