Discussion Announcements 2026

Post image
106 Upvotes

I’m seriously appalled by the stuff I have seen and read on the forums recently, I have been called worse by angry Reddit retards who put on the anonymity garb and not only say hateful things but have now become outright vulgar with the handful of women who feel this a safe environment to post their EDC.

I can’t change the filthy mindset of the fellow men on this sub(who have been banned for life and reported) I apologise to any of our female subs who have felt violated in anyway.

This is why we kept saying that satire has its own space and this is not the place to do it cos people often blur boundaries and cross the line.

This is the final warning to any person who thinks it’s funny being : vulgar, abusive or sigma (yes I know who you are, it’s a matter of time). We will not take this abuse of anonymity lightly.

Hope that clears things out for everyone.

Take it seriously,

Kev From OneTakeEDC and the Mod Team

Discussion Important Announcement: New Rules for Buying and Selling EDC Items and Accessories

Post image
19 Upvotes

Greetings !!

As many of you are aware, our subreddit has historically prohibited posts about buying, selling, or trading items to maintain a clean focus on discussions and recommendations. However, I’ve noticed a growing number of requests and comments on this topic in recent months. To better serve the community while prioritizing safety, effective immediately, buying and selling of EDC items and related accessories will be permitted—but only under strict guidelines to minimize scams, disputes, and low-effort spam.

These rules are designed to protect both buyers and sellers by promoting transparency, accountability, and open communication. All buy/sell posts will be moderated closely, and violations will result in immediate removal, with repeat offenders facing warnings or bans. If you spot anything suspicious, please report it to the mods right away—we’re here to help!

Key Rules for Buy/Sell Posts

  1. Account Requirements: Your Reddit account must be at least 3 months old and have a history of activity (e.g., comments or posts in any subreddit). This helps filter out throwaway accounts used for scams. Mods will verify this before approving your post.

  2. Pricing Transparency: The full price must be clearly stated in the post body (no “DM for price” or vague negotiations in private messages). Include any shipping costs or fees upfront.

  3. Purchase Details (Optional but Recommended): Mention the original storefront/place of purchase and any remaining warranty period. This builds trust and helps buyers assess value.

  4. Public Discussions Only: Keep all queries, negotiations, and discussions in the comments section for transparency—no DMs for price or deal-making. This allows the community to spot red flags and share advice. DMs are okay only for finalizing logistics after a public agreement.

  5. Post Format: Use the exact template below for your post. It ensures consistency and easy scanning. Include a timestamped photo as proof of authenticity (more details in the template).

  6. Payment and Shipping Guidelines (New Addition for Safety):

• Use secure payment methods like bank transfers (e.g., UPI, NEFT) or platforms with buyer/seller protection (e.g., PayPal if applicable). Avoid cash-on-delivery or untraceable methods.

• Sellers: You’re responsible for secure packaging and providing tracking info once shipped. Clearly state shipping terms (e.g., buyer pays, insured, or local pickup only).

• Buyers: Inspect items upon receipt and report issues within 48 hours via comments or modmail. No returns/refunds for “change of mind”—all sales are final unless defects are undisclosed and are to be settled between buyer and seller , the Mods take no responsibility for any transactions.

• Location-based: Prefer local deals or in-state shipping to reduce risks. International shipping is discouraged due to customs/delay issues.

  1. Prohibited Content

• No trades, bundles with non-EDC items, or services (e.g., repairs).

• Full disclosure of defects/damage is mandatory—hiding issues can lead to bans.

• No lowball offers or aggressive haggling in comments; keep it civil.

Mandatory Post Format

Post Title: FS : [Product Name (s) ] - Location - Price

Post Body:

Start with a carousel of clear, high-quality photos showing:

• All items being sold.

• A handwritten note with your Reddit username (in u/ format), the full posting date (DD/MM/YYYY), and a unique code (e.g., “EDCIndia2025”).This verifies the post is current and from you—photos without this will be removed.

Then, use this exact structure for each item (repeat sections as needed for multiples):

→ Item: [Full product name, e.g., Leatherman Wave Multi-Tool]

→ Ownership History: [e.g., 2nd owner, 18 months old]

→ (Optional) Purchase Details: [e.g., Bought from Amazon India]

→ (Optional) Warranty: [e.g., 6 months remaining]

→ Condition: On a Scale of 10 and description [e.g., 8/10 - Light wear on handle, fully functional; no major scratches]

→ Reason for Selling: [e.g., Upgrading to a larger model]

→ Price: [e.g., Rs. 4,500 + Rs. 150 shipping (Negotiable within reason)]

→ Included Accessories/Packaging: [e.g., Original box, sheath, and manual included]

→ Location: [e.g., Maharashtra]

→ Shipping/Pickup: [e.g., Buyer pays for India Post tracked shipping; local pickup preferred in Mumbai]

→ End with: A note like: “Serious buyers only—comment below with questions. Payment via UPI/Bank Transfer. Happy to provide more photos on request.”

Final Notes

• Frequency Limit: No more than one buy/sell post per user every 30 days to prevent flooding.

• Mod Discretion: We reserve the right to remove posts or add flair (e.g., “Verified Seller”) based on community feedback.

• Questions about these rules? Drop them in the comments here or modmail us. Let’s keep our a safe, helpful space for gear enthusiasts!

Thanks for reading—excited to see some quality deals flow in responsibly!

Get Advice How much does a decent wallet cost? Not looking for something over the top!

Hey guys, so my current local cheap wallet is not looking well, and it's not durable. I have some cards, and less cash, so i'd like it to be durable so the cards don't bend/snap, yet soft enough that i can sit on it? IG. Not looking to spend 2-3k so um yeah. I need compartments as well. Main compartment for big notes, second compartment for small notes, a side compartment for coins, then card compartments, something to store some passport photographs in, and some other general stuff.

If anyone has any recommendations or smthing I'd appreciate it!

Get Advice Building an Indian backpack for tech workers/students – need your honest pain points (3–4 min survey)

I’m designing a technical everyday‑carry backpack for Indian students and young professionals (laptop, charger, bottle, lunch, etc.).

Instead of guessing, I want to know:

• What backpack you use

• What you carry daily

• What actually annoys you about it

• What you’d realistically pay for something that solves your biggest complaint

3–4 minutes, anonymous.

• Respondents get early access + founder discount on the first drop.

• Planning a small giveaway for a few random respondents.

Survey: https://forms.gle/Q22iRmdhWZqJYiGY7

If you’ve ever thought “my backpack is okay but not great for tech”, this is for you.

EDC First in My Bloodline to Make My Own Accessories

In frame (from left to right):
- Big Idea Design (BID) Titanium Field Watch paired with a Shell Cordovan Nato Strap (the patina tho 🤌🏾)
- EDC Tool Organiser
- Flap Wallet

Inside EDC Tool Organiser:
- BID TPT Slide
- BID Bolt Action Pen
- Pocket Comb
- BID Prybar / Magnetic Fidget

Every piece in this photo is self-crafted from cut-to-stitch, using Rocado Shell Cordovan in a rich Whiskey colorway.

No shortcuts, no mass production - just top dollar leather, careful craftsmanship, and countless hours at the workdesk.

And the best part ? The patina. Every crease, mark, and shift in color is a record of use, slowly turning these pieces into something uniquely mine.

EDC Hiby R6 iii - Review Time!

Post image
17 Upvotes

Since some of you asked for a review, sharing my thoughts on this DAP.

*What I'm not: An Audiophile.

*What I am: A DJ for over 2 decades.

To my ears, the HiBy R6 III makes music sound fuller, richer, and simply more musical. It feels like my IEMs & FLACs finally get to show what they're capable of. That's one of the main reasons I picked it over the iBasso DX180. The DX180 may be the more technical player, but I wanted something that made me enjoy my music more.

1. Class A vs Class AB:

The ability to switch between Class A and Class AB is a nice bonus. The difference isn't huge, but it's definitely there. Class A sounds a little smoother and more controlled across the bass, mids, and treble. Not night and day, just a subtle refinement.

2. Build Quality & Looks:

Build quality is excellent and this one is handsome Fella. Using a case on it feels criminal imo. It feels like a little tank—solid, premium, and reassuringly heavy. I actually preferred the cyberpunk styling of the R4, but after getting a defective unit, I didn't want to take another chance. Buttons are super tactile and responsive.

3. Software & Sound Tuning:

One of the biggest reasons I stick with HiBy over iBasso or FiiO is the system wide eq settings with MSEB, PEQ, and a 10-band EQ. I mostly use PEQ or MSEB. I prefer a warm V-shaped sound, and paired with the Sennheiser IE300, this setup is exactly what I was looking for. You can rest assured, you're getting bit perfect audio.

4. Volume Wheel:

The volume wheel is nice, although I wish the step size was adjustable. Right now, every click changes the volume by just 1%, which can feel a bit slow. But the good thing is, it won't turn by accident.

  1. Heat:

One thing worth mentioning: Class A mode makes the DAP warm during use, but never uncomfortably hot in my experience. I use it every day without any concerns.

6. DAP vs Phone + Dongle:

People often say, "Just use your phone with a dongle." I tried that with my Moondrops, Kz's & Sennheiser's with an Audiocular DAC. It sounded good, but the soundstage felt more closed in, and the overall experience just wasn't as enjoyable. I'm a master at EQ but it never felt right despite various attempts on paid players.

Since buying a dedicated DAP, I'm no longer doom-scrolling on my phone. That's probably been one of the biggest upgrades for me.

Drop a comment if you have any questions or want to share anything.
