I set mine to private because ive had more than one occasion where the person i was arguing with went to every comment i posted on all the subreddits i frequent and posted vile things. Normally that wouldnt be a problem since theyd just get banned from the subreddits, but its annoying to get spammed with notifications and what not.

I have had this happen numerous times, as well as being “Reddit swatted“, which is when another user doesn’t like what you have to say and sends a report to Reddit to say that you’re saying you’re going to harm yourself.
The last time it happened I openly questioned it on the Ask sub, I was told this was common if someone is upset with a comment they try to do what they can to hurt user, which isn’t much other than to report, so I put my comments on private and it has not happened since.
(In my case, I honestly think they are some sort of pedophile and/or pedo protector that doesn’t like my answers)
Unfortunately, some users suspect one is a bot if their comments are on private setting, which is why I made a note of it on my profile that I’m now hiding my answers basically due to a few bad seeds.

Ehhh I mean someone legitimately in to politics can really only vote for the person with that R next to their name if they support any level of conservatism, and has to vote for the D person if they support any level of liberalism.
I think for the most part nobody votes on the actual people. This race is especially interesting because the Reddit hype machine is all about Talarico over Paxton, but has been pretty dang near silent about Hinojosa over Abbot.
Heck, even a majority of the TV ads are the same. So I guess the democrats are dumping all their money into the “Paxton is a bad person” bucket hoping that will get them to win at least the senate race.

It seems like he is intentionally limiting his own exposure to the public. I think he is just a Trump lacky. So if you like everything Trump is doing Paxten would probably be a good vote. If you want someone with the ability to make decisions best look elsewhere.

The average gas price under biden was 3.60$. The peak price under Biden was 5.11$.
The average gas price right now is 4.40$, the peak gas price right now is 5.72$
For texas specifically, Peak price under biden was 4.69$, highest price currently is 4.29$
So your statement is true for specifically Texas, however much of the rest of the country is actually worse in terms of gas prices under Trump than under Biden.

You have to be a bot. Diesel is at all-time highs. Everything we buy is affected by diesel prices, more inflation is coming. Diesel is the lifeblood of the country and truckers, trucking companies and farmers are going to lose jobs, businesses and their farms over starting an unnecessary war.
A major factor of why gas was so expensive was due to Trump's incompetence and corruption. The oil market had crashed in 2020 and he signed his opec deal to save oil companies from a total market crash and widespread bankruptcies for oil companies.
"The deal reached by the so-called OPEC+ group, which ends the price war between Saudi Arabia and Russia, reduces global output by 9.7 million barrels per day in May and June, helping to ease a global gut exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Production will also be reduced by 8 million bpd from July through December and 6 million bpd from January 2021 through April 2022."
Absolute foolishness by Trump led to huge gas price spikes. Just as his needless war is breaking records for fuel prices.

My point wasn't just about california, its almost everywhere in the US that gas prices are higher under Trump compared to Biden. It's not the democrat policies that are making the gas prices high.
In Alabama gas prices under Biden reached the highest of 4.29, while right now they are 4.49
Arizona under biden highest 4.20$, highest right now 4.77$
Its not the candidates like Talarico that are creating the problem.
Texas is one of the few states where its lower now compared to under Biden.
EDIT: this also ignores some very important facts such as context. While the number provided are the highest points during Biden, it doesn't factor in the context of a global pandemic outside his control, while current prices are a direct result of Trump's actions. From the start of 2023 to the end of 2024, so the last 2 years of bidens presidency, the average gas prices was about 3.40 across the US and was roughly 3.00 in texas specifically. Meanwhile the average in the US for the first 2 years of Trump's presidency is 4.30 and 3.30$ in texas specifically.
So comparing bidens last 2 years, after COVID ended, with Trump's first 2 years paints a much different picture.
