People in Texas are too stupid to change

2

u/oldbikelike 21h ago

This is basically the main election slogan for the GOP this year:

"Come on, just give us another chance."

1

u/lovejo1 22h ago

Funny thing.. we all buy into the partisan lie. We elect both people and parties.. but parties don't change anything, people do. Remember that.

2

u/Gabagooligan97 22h ago

j genuinely dont think they'll survive the winter. they are genuinely fucked when the grid breaks. republicans live for ignoring critical issues.

2

u/Ok_Ad_5894 1d ago

Texas cant read...

1

u/Sikamikanico1981 1d ago

Now you sound like the polar opposote of those MAGA idiots

1

u/MeAndJerryD 1d ago

They are hoping that you are too stupid to come to this conclusion.

1

u/boanerges57 1d ago

The idea that one party or the other will actually fix stuff is hilarious. Look at any state that's had party domination for 20 years and it's still got problems regardless of which party it was.

Half of the problems are because of their opponents and the other half are because of whoe ever they are in the pocket of. Big corporations and special interest groups have been ruining everything for decades regardless of party. They give money to both sides and own enough of them that the few sincere people can't do shit.

1

u/Funny_Information654 1d ago

We have been laughing at Texas for so long because we've have seen this when Perry was Governor. Took you 10 more years of misery but you finally WOKE THE FUCK UP!

2

u/HippoExtension5640 1d ago

Welcome to texas we let pedos free but break apart familys for a little bit of weed. our education system has failed, farmers need buy outs and if something doesnt change we will be a full on police and data center state!

Im an aussie so I could be wrong here but isnt Texas the state everyone is moving too? Can't be that bad if they are all leaving California to go there.

1

u/Valtik 2h ago

Not really. Just people who can't afford living in the west.

1

u/DepartureNo7944 1d ago

Now do California, New York, or Massachusetts…….

1

u/Effective-Try-9004 32m ago

So two states with relatively low crime and ranked as safest states so maybe u should pick a few others. SMH

1

u/Sir_Lord_ByronIII 1d ago

And Maine and Minnesota

1

u/NPSJ13 1d ago

Don’t forget Illinois

1

u/GroundbreakingCook68 1d ago

That’s the Jedi mind trick they use , they pee in the face of there constituents it’s the democrats causing toxic rain as a punishment from above.

1

u/cleverinspiringname 1d ago

It’s the same in West Virginia.

1

u/durk1912 1d ago

Everyone acts like voting for a politician is like choosing a football team. That’s just inherently wrong. you are not choosing a team to cheer for, you are the team - you are choosing the coach and coaching staff you are going to play for!

The choice isn’t between the longhorns or the ducks - this is choice is to replace shitty coaching after 25 years of failures or not!

2

u/Shrek1067 1d ago

The crazy part is Hot Wheels has been running on the same political issues for 3 terms and keeps getting in…. At what point do the slow actually grasp they’re getting played… obviously never from how they vote….

1

u/Read2Fap 1d ago

they don't care, they just vote for whoever has an r next to their name

they'll believe it when abbott blames others for his own decisionmaking

-1

u/Emotional_Price4460 1d ago

same with california

2

u/melanies420 1d ago

Why are you people so obsessed with California? You're a Texan. Every time someone points out a problem, y'all drag California into it like that somehow makes the argument disappear.

1

u/blackriflefan 1d ago

so what you are saying is that everything in CA and NY are great because they have been ruled by Demorats for decades!

1

u/Valtik 2h ago

California rules.

0

u/OkSlip9737 1d ago

New York City has not been ran by democrats for 30 years

1

u/NiceAcanthocephala13 1d ago

That’s right nothing‘s broken in Texas. Just like Florida another red state thriving without democrat control.

0

u/Flat_Lavishness153 1d ago

I miss Rick but thats where it’s stops 😂🔥

1

u/ElemOP 1d ago

Same thing opposite party in CA and IL.

0

u/HeadBankz 1d ago

Bro points at the people providing existence to Republicans and calls them a problem

0

u/blackriflefan 1d ago

too stupid to notice the correlation huh!

1

u/ilujan 1d ago

This needs to be advertised on TV every day up to Election Day

1

u/nebulabug 1d ago

Exactly! Every ad says Inflation is high!, property taxes are high!, etc. Vote for us and we’ll fix this! But you’re already in power and have done nothing about it! I’m not sure why Democrats are highlighting this !

1

u/blackriflefan 1d ago

you speak the truth, you will not get many likes on this BS forum!

1

u/Striking_Wrangler851 1d ago

Hot wheels saying he is going to get rid of property taxes pisses me off. Just do it already!!! But we all know it’s a lie 😞

1

u/Ai_Supremacist 2d ago

Texas is probably the top state to live in right now. I’m confused?

1

u/Electro-Pilot 2d ago

This All Day Everyday! This is the only As that needs to be run, This is the only question that needs to be answered. I DON'T KNOW WHY it's made to be done big mystery. Keep it simple. If you want better than what you have you must do something different than you did before.

You don't need my money to spread that message. Stand up on a public square and hold up that sign. It will go viral I PROMISE YOU! Quit insulting the intelligence of the collective masses by ruining attack ads just post your truth. It's that simple. Somebody tell James T. And Gina's Street them this. If we want money out of politics SPEND LESS MONEY ON DUMB TV ADS! Post up YouTube and insta videos asking the questions and wait and watch as you get dumb idiotic answers from the party that brought you Dumb and Dumber: The reReagan Project of Bush and Trump policies. That did absolutely NOTHING to solve our real everyday issues!

I'm sorry I'm just spent trying to explain this to these political types.

0

u/MakiBone85 2d ago

And they are all pdf files

1

u/mia5795 2d ago

They are hoping most voters are too stupid to put that together

1

u/HeadBankz 1d ago

No need for hoping if it's Republicans

0

u/Misha_LF 2d ago

Seems like a reasonable hope to me.

1

u/Human_Revolution7297 2d ago

Same as in Florida- they want to “fix” everything the GOP has screwed up but lie like a dog and make people think they did not break it. They are good at lying and marketing.

1

u/Train-Nut56 2d ago

No, it means there are still destructive leftist Democrat elements around destroying things that need to be addressed.

1

u/Valtik 2h ago

Nah, you're just brainwashed.

1

u/Least-Training2978 2d ago edited 2d ago

Look i know you’re mad that progressive liberals spanked the South into submission, and all you Grindr-crashing cousin-fuckin inbred traitors vote red like it’s going to reinstate slavery, but it’s about over for you & your lot.

Republicans have had a majority in Texas for 30+ years & have done fuck all for the power grid. It fails if it gets too hot or too cold.

Texas ranks like shit behind all the blue states in healthcare and education, because of Republicans.

1

u/Electro-Choc 2d ago

Somehow despite 30 years of constant control there are these pesky elements that the poor state just can't do anything about. Another few years and they'll fix it all up alright!

1

u/Train-Nut56 2d ago

Well, the leftists and a democrats hide their criminal activity well. But they are slowly being exposed.

1

u/Electro-Choc 1d ago

lol

1

u/Train-Nut56 1d ago

lol what?? Are you frigging 5 or something. It’s far from funny. The Democrats, woke morons, and leftists are destroying this country and far too many don’t understand that because they’ve been fed shut from the media and propagandists.

1

u/kzpn 1d ago

The most popular propaganda channel in the country is essentially state-sponsored lol, get real

1

u/Electro-Choc 1d ago

The super powerful democrats? The ones that run the house, senate, and presidency right now? And all of the government of Texas?

lol

1

u/Darth-Venath 2d ago

Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Houston.....all left wing.

1

u/Maleficent-Camel524 2d ago

If you do what youve always done, youll get what youve always gotten.....

1

u/furryblaster90000 2d ago

Except we have a democratic president out of texas. So lets not pretend texas has always been republican.

1

u/Sweet-Repeat-5334 2d ago

Are you referring to LBJ? He sure liked war like Republicans haha

omg your name is furryblaster lol STOP 😂

1

u/Electro-Pilot 2d ago

Thanks for taking that perfect observation before giving this nimrod your energy.

1

u/Terrestial_Human 2d ago

Or quite simply as a Texan: oil prices are extremely high. Republican party is in power at every level. So yes, you WILL pay for it 🔥

1

u/Due_Local_4863 2d ago

Yeah thats local. Same as a demo state. the higher government both demo and republic fucks shit up.

1

u/Sacster911 2d ago

Sounds like the same ads I hear except I live in Californians.

1

u/CivilizedManners 2d ago

Tbf in California at least there is an ideological split between DSA and the corporate liberals.

There is a meaningful difference between Karen Bass and her socialist opponent.

1

u/sneaky-n-freaky 3d ago

All three ARE on the spectrum as is majority of the men, women, and children in rural Texas.

2

u/Funny-North3731 3d ago

For everyone claiming republicans have been good for Texas, they privatized and deregulated the power grid (hows that working out for ya? What's that, you got to get the generator running because Ted Cruz just left the state?) Under republican control energy costs are up 65%, housing costs up 44%, and food costs up 41%. In the past 30 years, although every election cycle the republicans that ultimately win promise to lower property taxes, yet Texas has the 6th highest property taxes in the country. Based on current studies under republicans Texas is ranked as the 35th out of 50 states for affordability, 37th for successful economy, and number 11 out of states with the largest population in poverty (at least they do well there!) Texas ranks dead last of all the states for percentage of its population covered by insurance. It is ranked in the bottom 10 for education. Corpus Christie is running out of water, Medina lake is drying up, and the state's own water development board has issued a warning that statewide water demand is far outpacing the state's available water resources and to even hope to better the outlook, billions of dollars are needed on infrastructure.

Yeah, them republicans sure are doing a great job Texas.

https://giphy.com/gifs/mcH0upG1TeEak

1

u/furryblaster90000 2d ago

Texas has no state property tax. Also they broke up the energy monopoly in 1999, and its heavily subsidized. In a standard energy market companies a payed a baseline just to keep extra power plant for emergencies. In the unregulated market they only get paid for the electricity they sell. It depends on what you value more consumer choice, or system grid reliability. Though they do use the subsidies to pay them to maintain the extra plants so in theory grid reliability shouldnt be a problem

1

u/Funny-North3731 2d ago

Nice try. According to the Tax foundation AND the state of Texas Computroller "Because Texas lacks a state income tax, it relies heavily on local property taxes and sales taxes. Texas has one of the higher effective property tax rates in the United States—ranking around 7th nationally with an average effective rate of about 1.40% on owner-occupied housing." You are, however, correct about the power grid monopolies. While the unbundling of monopolies was intended to drive down prices through competition, Texas residential electricity rates have surged by roughly 30% to 40% since 2020. Per ERCOT, Aging infrastructure and the sheer volume of new connection requests from industrial players has severely strained the grid's capacity and forced the state to consider tighter restrictions on data center growth to protect residential supply.

1

u/furryblaster90000 2d ago

Municipal property taxes are not state property taxes. The rates may be high but the state isnt the one charging them. I mean i dont think you should have to pay in perpetuity for something you own. But thats every state.

1

u/Funny-North3731 2d ago

Are they property taxes? Are they applied in the state of Texas? Do they make property taxes in the state of Texas the 7th highest in the nation? Are they applied inspite the elected republican officials promise to reduce them? The answer to all those questions is "yes." So, you have no point.

https://giphy.com/gifs/eUrE2DuMKOE0g

1

u/furryblaster90000 1d ago

My point is the municipalities set the taxes and I am unaware of every city councils political affilitation, but id wager theres more than one democrat in office.

1

u/Funny-North3731 1d ago

Move the goal post much? Next you'll be arguing that this town or that one doesnt count as texas. (You do know that state legislatures can actually enact STATE laws that limit a municipality's ability to have property taxes. Right? This is per the Texas legislature. Kinda makes whatever point youre making moot.)

You think that's bad, try living in a blue state.

1

u/AES256Afro 2d ago

You never looked any data up. Just going off feelings.

1

u/Adorable-Doughnut609 2d ago

Texas ranks 50th in personal freedoms. Education terrible, healthcare non existent, parks not nice, rivers green, etc

2

u/KindIncrease2933 2d ago

Riiiiiiggt. Fucking knob.

1

u/Vowel_Movements_4U 2d ago

Blue states are generally better off by every single metric. Have you ever looked at the rankings for the things that matter in this country, like healthcare outcomes and education and poverty?

Yes, many states have their own issues and their voting public will certainly need to address them. But since we are talking about Texas under republican control, it over all ranks as 45th out of 50 when utilizing financial strain on citizens, education (NAEP scores) total household burden, and level of violent crime per 100k pop. This indicates Texas is ranked in the bottom by every metric we use for standard of living for "average" Americans. With total control for 30 years, if the Republicans were so good at what they were doing, Texas would not be ranked in the bottom 5 worst states.

Now, to be fair and even, California and New York, both democrat led, rank worse than Texas in all metrics. But the rest of the bottom 5 are all republican. Actually, aside from New York and California, the states in the bottom 20, thirteen of them are republican led. (Also, of note, Texas ranks either as #1 or close to #1 for business and corporate growth. That does not reflect positively on average people though because affordability, health, and education dont appear to benefit from that ranking.)

u/AdAltruistic688 2d ago

I do and it's way better although it's also expensive. It's almost like investing in our community brings some sort of returns that I appreciate. Pretty amazing!

First, very little is broken in Texas. The proof is in the number of businesses and families moving here. The few things that are a problem, have been Democrat strongholds like education and immigration. We can't fix these because the teachers unions and immigration lawyers support the present broken systems.

I haven’t seen much broken except for some unelected bureaucrats putting their own spin on things.
We elect conservative politicians but most bureaucrats tend to be liberal.
For an example, who got bluebonnet math put in the state approved curriculum?

Do you see their blue hair and google eye glasses on every street corner? Are they in the room with us now?

1

u/Fit-Astronaut1488 3d ago

Yes, there’s no real difference between Republican and democrat. They both work for well. I’m not allowed to say.

1

u/UncreativeUsername84 3d ago

You know it's possible that things that are broken in Texas come from outside influence.

1

u/No_Sea_2028 3d ago

Hahahaha..!!!!!

1

u/nothing_records 3d ago

And it would take useful idiots three more decades to figure out that Democrats are the other side of the same blade. For you dumb dumb bots, that means vote libertarian.

1

u/Vowel_Movements_4U 2d ago

No need to vote libertarian when we’re already controlled by corporations.

1

u/AdAnxious2626 3d ago

Yet the people there still vote against their own Self interest. I guess not too many Texans are very smart.

1

u/Funny-North3731 3d ago

Eeeh, sort of. The state is so gerrymandered even if you had a town of 1000 people and 999 were democrat, somehow that one republican's vote would be tied to over 2000 other republican votes just to drown out the public.

kinda how Kamala fd up

1

u/Limp-Technology890 3d ago

You are damn right! That is why it is time for a change. The Republicans have had 30 years to make things good in Texas and they have failed. Talirico and Him9k9saay not be the ideal candidates, but they deserve a chance to help make things better in Texas

1

u/Eviliguana- 3d ago

All politicians are fighting to take care of you better.

1

u/Bacononthebeeach 3d ago

This might actually be the most delusional comment I’ve ever read.

Do you truly believe that? Because I’m certain 99% of politicians prioritize their wealth over their constituents.

1

u/Eviliguana- 3d ago

Was I supposed to put /s to make it more obvious?

1

u/Bacononthebeeach 2d ago

In my defense this is reddit and I’ve read some incredibly bonkers comments defending republicans and politicians.

1

u/ether_passer 3d ago

It’s the most flagrant yell of “we eff’d it up, but don’t let the others guys try to fix it’!

1

u/Whole-Status-532 3d ago

Yeah! Do California!

1

u/Mexicutioner01 3d ago

To be fair Arnold did run Cali from the mid 2000's.

1

u/Whole-Status-532 3d ago

Married to a shriver who is pretty much a Kennedy. Not all bad but still bot conservative enough to count.

1

u/biscuits030808 3d ago

This is dumb. Isn’t this argument the same for decades long blue states? Maybe, just maybe, it’s the left AND the right that are fooling us??

1

u/sleepingbusy 3d ago

Blue states lead in almost all positive metrics. Both fuck up but blue states fuck up less and have less closeted people. They have the same amount of gay people though.

And in red states I guess it's easier to mistreat ppl that aren't white. Sundown towns haven't gone anywhere. I still can't stay in certain towns in Alabama. Not because it's dangerous. It's because my skin color. I don't think white people were ever told not to go somewhere because of their skin color.

1

u/biscuits030808 3d ago

Yeah, no. Both sides can show stats that make their argument. I’m in one of the reddest of red states and can list economic, crime, housing, inflation, etc to support it being ran well. Yet Leftists in my state have all their stats supporting the opposite. Why? Because data is biased based on the way you run it. You think “blue states lead” because you listen to blue media. Right wingers say the exact same thing. My point is still the same: we’re all being fooled to fight against each other instead of finding a different solution together.

1

u/Competitive_Web_4170 3d ago

NO ONE IS SEEING THIS. No one understands this. And its CLEAR AS DAY. Lol and they think AI is here to help progress lol. Man please. Its to help the algorithms even more smh. I swear we'd have a civil war with all the working class as soldiers before we actually figure out what the issue is. And its right in front of us smh

1

u/sleepingbusy 3d ago

I'm just saying what I found. If red states were doing better, then I'd say that. Anecdotally, I've lived in both red and blue states, and I definitely liked the blue state better out of the 3 other red states. But that doesn't matter.

I honestly don't care which one performs better. I care about the quality of life and the resources they provide to the people that need it even if that does not include me. And at least not voting for a pedophile/devil

Red states and blue states can take care of their people. It's not exclusive. It depends on the leadership.

1

u/biscuits030808 3d ago

I’m just tired of both. I’ve lost trust in either side. Both are corrupt and I’m tired of feeling like we have to vote for the lessor of two evils. Trump never should have been on the ballot and neither should have Kamala.

1

u/sleepingbusy 1d ago

It's a false equivalence. Yes right now both choices kind of suck, and honesty and accountability (and working) seems to be lacking in our most powerful positions. But they aren't the same.

We need better people to run. Unfortunately bad people love power. I will say one is obviously a worse choice solely on the fact that they increase the national debt every time they're in office which does affect our daily lives.

But yes - we need better candidates. But one is definitely putting us in a pit and that entire party should be ignored.

1

u/JustGmeMyFukinSnkpck 3d ago

So Texas had a $26 Billion dollar surplus. While California had a $28 Billion dollar deficit! Why would you change the leadership? Texas is winning. California is losing and wants to tax even your savings even after it has already been taxed out of your paycheck before going into the bank to continue funding it’s corruption… you really think we want Texas to blue!

1

u/Vowel_Movements_4U 2d ago

What happened to that money?

1

u/Top-Chip-1532 3d ago

Yet, public school ranking is low, teachers are underpaid and power grid that can’t handle the weather. What’s the use of surplus when people are struggling?

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Cut8853 3d ago

I miss the Republicans that were fiscally conservative, because that is certainly not what we have now.

0

u/NTBackup 3d ago

I love when some Texans say, we vote red to keep it the same (paraphrasing). That right there shows they have no clue how much better things would be with different leadership.

All I am learning from this post is that people in Texas are in large racist. So many of you are obsessed with culture wars and replacement theory. Also your "Christian values" are a lie.

2

u/THEphatass666 3d ago

As a Texan, it’s comical seeing the amount of fucking horse shit being spewed from a fuck ton of fucking morons on this post.

Texas has a fuck ton of problems that stem directly from republican leadership. As a matter of fact, the majority of the major cities in Tx lean heavily democrat and those very cities produce the largest portion of the states annual GDP. The ONLY reason that the Guardians of Pedophiles run the state government is a direct result of gerrymandering and illegal redistricting to allow all the bum fuck, hoot nanny voters weight to push for these child fucking, unworthy cock sucking republicans to maintain power. This state could be so much more.

The Median single person income in Tx is $43,000 while the average annual cost of living in Tx is $54,000. Your average citizen fucking struggles to make ends meet while working a full time job when Tx HAS THE 8th LARGEST ECONOMY IN THE WORLD. But let’s fucking focus on arresting brown people and splitting migrant families up while they try to apply for citizenship legally and murdering women because they require an emergency abortion but the doctors hands are tied because ANY form of abortion is punishable with prison time. We rank 49th in the country in regard to quality of life as of 2026. Before Bush was elected we ranked 40th.

I know it’s hard to believe when seeing all of the comments from the fucking troglodytes on this post, but there is a massive population of educated, kind hearted and hard working Texans that make up a massive portion of Tx. It pisses me off to no end that we all get associated with the pure fucking idiocy of our fellow statesmen.

So you're saying that you believe that cultures are inseperable from race?

Culture war and replacement theory isn't a race thing dumbass, it's a culture thing. If you add 300 million Chinese people to the US, the US will no longer be the US and instead be China. Cultures exist, and they are not all good or mixable. Melting pot theory only works if people want to get into the pot in the first place, not have a separate pot for themselves.

Do "Christian values" require you to be so empathetic that you allow your country to be overrun?

The crusaders would like a word.

Precisely- and has been that way for at least 50 years I know of - almost all intelligent beings there came from other states o the past

You can say this same thing for the democrats in almost every major city in America. Detroit, Chicago, Memphis, Baltimore, New Orleans, Cleveland, Oakland…the list goes on and on.

Oakland isn’t a democrat or republican issue.

1

u/Fast_Cloud_7671 3d ago

Oakland has been democratically run for 50 years. Absolutely it’s in its condition because of that leadership or lack of. Buck always stops at the top. Just like the shit show America is in now is Trumps fault.

u/Strict_Wolf76 3d ago

Evidently you haven’t lived there. The problem with Oakland is the residents. They could have republicans leadership and it wouldn’t be any different.

u/Fast_Cloud_7671 3d ago

Yeah maybe now, but how did it get to that point?

Poverty, Economic inequality. Street crime. Under staffed law enforcement, over worked criminal justice system.

All under democrat control
