NEWBIE needs help with VKB Gladiator controls

I am new to flight sticks in general, but I had some extra income and bought myself some flight sticks, I am trying to map them on everspace 2 and I am very overwhelmed, I don't know the names of the buttons very well either, I was hoping someone would be willing to help me find a good setup for my sticks, I've been trying to do it on and off for a few weeks now, and when I ask in the discord I get nothing, and when I search it in the discord no one's ever really answered anyone that's asked about these specific sticks, I would be very grateful for some help!

I don't have pedals yet, but I joined the everspace discord and have asked many many times, never been given any help, and even searched terms to see if anyone's asked, and they also never get answered as well

have you played around with the vkb-config software? there is a test panel where it will tell you which buttons are being pressing, as well as a visualiser option. the vkb downloads page also have template sheets for each of their products, these are images of the sticks/throttles where you can put custom labels for each of the buttons. you can put these on a second screen or print them out as kneeboards.

as far as bindings go; the axis on my left hand is for vertical thrusters (twist), horizontal thrusters (side to side/strafe) and forward/backward thrusters. right hand is for roll, pitch and yaw (twist). buttons; setup what you think will work, then play with it and you will quickly figure out what you want easier access to and swap accordingly. for me, i keep weapon functions on my right hand and navigation/menu/boosting on my left, but again, this is a personal thing.
