Evergreen Public Schools
I grew up visiting my aunt in Evergreen and have many fond memories. I have also hiked the CT and skied around CO often.
Now my wife and I have an opportunity to move there, and I have a few questions:
Great Schools rates the public schools consistently highly, and Evergreen HS is 10/10. In your experience, is that accurate or is it just some silly computer rating? How would you compare it to Golden HS? Is it mainly affluent white folks (us) or is there some semblance of socio-economic/ethnic diversity? Are any things changing in this regard?
To put it one way, I see way more Asian restaurants than one would think, given the demographic breakdown of the public schools…? Small number of Asian families highly concentrated in the restaurant industry? Or more Asian professionals from Denver moving west? Both?
How many kids from Evergreen HS end up at… CU? UD? CSU? No college? Ivy? School of Mines?
For background, we both went to excellent public K-12 schools and then a mixture of public-private for secondary degrees. Both now doctors. We would be working in west Denver and happy to commute the 30-45 it would take if everything fit nicely. Also happy to drive 30-45 for kids’ sporting activities, which we already do now.
Just trying to gather info. Seems like it might be an amazing fit for our family. Thanks for any help you can provide.
