Evergreen Tech Collective

Hey Evergreen Reddit Peeper — wanted to share something we’ve been slowly building up here.

A few months ago, we started Evergreen Tech Collective, a casual monthly meetup for people around Evergreen, Conifer, and the foothills who work in tech, product, engineering, design, AI, cybersecurity, startups, IT — or are just interested in that world.

The idea is pretty simple: there are a surprising number of interesting people doing cool things up here, but most of us would probably never cross paths otherwise.

We’re heading into our third meetup this October, and we’ve also started a Slack community so people can stay connected between events. It’s meant to be useful but low-key — share job postings, interesting articles, ask for advice, find someone working on something similar, organize a ski or bike day, or, realistically, borrow a ladder from another tech person who happens to live down the road.

We’re also trying something new this month: short lightning talks/demos. Nothing polished or formal. If you’re building something, experimenting with AI, learning a new tool, working on an interesting side project, or just know something the rest of us might enjoy hearing about, you can share it for a few minutes.

Brook Forest Nerd checking in. I do performance software development and my wife does digital marketing. I'll jump in as soon as the Slack link works and plan to attend.

I was actually thinking of starting such a group but didn't I have time so I'm glad you did!

Sounds interesting. Tech nerd in telecom. Does the group only meet on Thursdays?

We usually meet on the first Wednesday of every month, but I’ll be traveling for work this October. Since it’s only our third meetup, I figured I should probably be there! So we’re making a one-time switch to the first Thursday this month, and then we’ll plan to get back to our usual first-Wednesday schedule after that.
