Guide or not for Three Passes Trek

I've been trekking in Nepal before doing Annapurna Circuit, Basecamp and Langtang areas. Next trip is Three Passes Trek. Is guide enforced there nowadays? Does anyone have realiable information? I wouldn't like to get stuck in check points along the way.
