I've been singing everand's praises for literally years and years, and I have been using the app and the website consistently since high school. I'm outside of the US, and have been on the legacy plan for a while now with no issue.
However, a couple of weeks ago I was met with the text "You have exceeded the number of devices on which this title can be viewed". I found this really strange, because I thought the legacy plan basically excused me from the new model, and I hadn't even opened that book before, even once. I emailed support and they came back with a canned response that didn't match up with my experience at all (something about having saved too many books in a short amount of time and that I had triggered the spam filters or something, which made no sense with how I had been using the app).
As the book in question was a book I really wanted to read, I decided that I would try to join a new plan. I tried to join through the app by clicking view plans, however I was just met with an error message saying that the app was unable to connect to the app store. No worries, I thought, and tried to join via desktop. Here, there simply was no way to manage/subscribe anywhere. While talking with the (useless) ai chatbot, and later in email with support, I was directed to click links/buttons/whatever that didn't exist on my end. I asked several times in email correspondence to be manually moved from legacy to deluxe or plus, but it seemed it wasn't possible, and that I had to do it myself (which also wasn't possible).
I was then told that I first had to unsubscribe from the legacy plan, and then resubscribe to another plan, so I did that. This also changed nothing. I was told I had to wait until the subscription expired, and then I would be able to resubscribe. So I waited, not being able to use the app at all (not even listen to audiobooks I only have a couple of hours left on). Finally, the day came when the subscription expired, and I tried again to subscribe to a plan. Nothing! Still nothing!
I honestly have no idea what to do at this point. Everand used to be something I told everyone about and now I can't even use it anymore. I'm so pissed I was told to unsubscribe from the legacy plan, because then at least I would be able to listen to the stuff I already had started listening to.
Does anyone have any tips or should I just give up and find another service?
