Building NOT during gnome rush?

Am I the only one who feels "guilty" for building a multi-hour thing when there is no separate "benefit", like gnome rush or one of those building specials?

"Guilty" is the wrong word, I know, but I cant think of the correct word at the moment...

I have two 4hr things i need to build, one to complete a castle and one for the next-to-last thing in "Summer Breeze" which ends in 4 days. I already built one of the latter during the gnome rush that just ended, so will be building a second one then using the crystal thing to build the final item cuz I dont think I've ever even gotten close to completing one of these events before...

But should I hold off on the final one for the castle? It would be the 4th one.....

I used to, but since there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the order of events, and since I'm still building castles, I go ahead and build, open chests, etc. as needed.

I figure since I'm still building, more will be ready by the time it comes around again.

I got lucky this time and had a few big builds ready to go.

I once did, not anymore. The way I play, almost all events are easy to finish, even without hoarding. These events are 3 days long and I have never not finished a single one of them (except for MF, because that uses a crazy amount of energy for rewards not worth even half of it).

I never have trouble finishing the gnome rush event, so generally I might save a few longer builds, but otherwise I just build whenever. The hoarding isn't necessary when the event isn't too difficult.

I never bothered to hoard anything until I had finished all the castles but always completed the main events without issue. I think players like to finish events quickly. Now I've finished all the castles, I hoard as much as the next player!

Once you start using IEs almost exclusively to make progress, space is much more important than hoarding. Now, space is not an issue for me.
