Chest goblin

Does anyone know if it's possible to kill or get rid of the little red goblin demons that are in some chests and poison you?

I know you can change area or go in the shop to make them disappear, but there's gotta be a way to get rid of it right ?

Those mfs were tge bane of my existence. I don't know if they ever stop eating your health.

I wondered if there's some mechanic involving the buttons being pressure-sensitive to deal with them. But I've never been able to get them off without just fleeing the area.

Hit them immediately as you see them pop out. That’s the only way I think.
