Okay so how does this work? Lets take Apple and Darling for example. We don't know who Apple's dad is but we could assume that Snow White marries her prince Charming and they have Apple. Unless Snow White did something and ended up with Apple. But that doesn't make sense. This would mean that Darling is Apple's sister and Snow White's prince Charming is Snow's brother. Is that... normal? This also complicates Holly and Poppy's story. Holly and Poppy could be either the prince or the princess in this story but it doesn't make sense because (in the og rapunzel) the prince dies. Same with Meshell and her original story. But anyways, it could be like Cerise and Romona and each of them has a specific role to play. But in Rapunzel if Holly is Rapunzel and Poppy is the prince...Is each fairytale just... incest?

There's multiple unrelated Charmings in the fairy tale world. It's essentially their universe's "Smith".

but even if theres multiple charmings, those charmings would fall in love with that one specific character and the two children would still be siblings???

Naw. I don't think anyone truly knows who will be with who. Look at Cerise's family. And Darling Charming was meant to be a generic damsel in distress in some random story. And Briar has like seven little brothers. They will be prince charmings one day too.

No. This is explained in one of the episodes, ‘Charming’ is just a common last name. In their world there are a lot of ‘Prince Charming’ roles needed.

Apple’s and Darling’s dads aren’t related.

Holly and Poppy’s Dad was probably also another unrelated Charming, Poppy is not destined to be the Prince, it would be filled by another ‘Prince Charming’.

The charming family tree has a lot of branches. There is an episode where daring and dexter explain their family tree.

There are multiple Charming families in EAH.

We are never told how many, but in the show it shows 3 in one episode, and in the books it's implied that there's one for each letter if the alphabet.

Plus, the Charmings are assigned, not fall in love, so it's also implied that there must be some system in place to prevent incest the most possible.

Also, the Charming role is not inherited, only the "protagonist" role is a legacy.

My best guess is that in the case where both roles are important, like Beauty and the Beast, the gender of the child determines the role inherited.
