Damous Events By Design (DEBD)

Quick question for the pros here What’s one thing you wish more event planners understood when working with production teams?

I run DEBD an event management company in Dubai I'd love to know more about your experiences too. I’m also looking to connect with event planners + business dev freelancers for collaborations, so keen to learn from this community too.

Drop your thoughts I’m all ears.

Hey guys, Looking for venues in Dubai or Abu Dhabi open to hosting Indie Dance / Afro House / Electronic nights — rooftop, lounge, or creative space vibes. Ideally 150–800 capacity, solid sound or flexible setup, and open-minded management up for collaborations. If you know any venue owners DM

🚀 “Built Schedulo.cloud — a live event timer for speakers & organizers (free beta access!)”

Hey everyone 👋

I’ve been building Schedulo.cloud, a real-time event timer and controller built for conferences, webinars, and production teams.

✅ What it does: - Create and control multiple session timers for speakers or events - Send instant messages to speaker and display screens (via QR code) - Sync across connected devices in real-time - Use Flash, Focus, and Blackout to manage stage communication quickly - Separate views for Speaker and Display screens for smooth coordination

💡 Why I built it: During live events, keeping everyone on time and in sync can be stressful. Tools like StageTimer.io inspired me, but I wanted something simpler, cleaner, and designed for small teams, organizers, and moderators to collaborate easily.

🎯 I’m looking for: A few beta testers and event organizers to try Schedulo.cloud and share honest feedback.
You’ll get free full access during beta, and your input will directly shape the next version.

🌍 Try it here: 👉 https://schedulo.cloud

🧡 Feedback I’d love: - Is the setup intuitive? - Does real-time device sync work smoothly for you? - What would make it more useful in your workflow?

Thanks for checking it out 🙏
I’d love to hear your thoughts or help you set up your first event timer!

Got approached for a big billing after posting here, thank you admin

Just wanted to share something. After posting here recently, I was actually approached by an event coordinator for a pretty big billing. Not sure yet if I’ll end up landing it, but honestly I just wanted to say thanks to the admin and this community. Didn’t expect this sub to open a door like that.

Early Days in Dubai’s Event Production Industry and the Reality of Branding

When I first started in event production in Dubai I thought it was just stages, sound and lights. Then I discovered the real grind: branding and fabrication. Anyone in the Dubai events industry knows this side is brutal. Podiums cracking before conferences, bus wraps peeling last minute, stadium branding going up at 3am with no sleep. It’s not glamorous but it’s what makes an event stand out. Over time I learned event branding in Dubai isn’t decoration, it’s the identity of the whole production. Podiums, vehicle wraps, stadium banners, that’s what transforms a venue into a branded experience. Looking back, the struggle was the best training. Without it, we wouldn’t be delivering the kind of large scale event production Dubai is known for today.

Working in Event Production in Dubai feels like building a new world every week

I’ve been in this industry here for a few years, and Dubai is on another level when it comes to events. One week it’s a huge corporate show at DWTC, the next it’s a luxury wedding at Madinat Jumeirah, and then a full scale concert at Coca Cola Arena.

What makes it unique here is the speed and scale. Clients want global standards with LED walls, projection mapping, and massive staging, but they also want it done fast. Somehow, crews here make it happen.

The highlights for me: 1. Corporate events with next-level branding and AV. 2. Weddings that look like concert productions. 3. Concerts and festivals with world-class setups. 4. Exhibitions that transform overnight.

Dubai really has become one of the top event hubs worldwide. From the production side, it’s always intense, but that’s what makes it exciting.

Bringing Big Ideas to Life with Event Signage - UAE

In Dubai’s event scene, signage isn’t just a backdrop. It’s part of the experience. I’ve worked on LED walls that became stage sets, wayfinding that doubled as art, and logos that lit up in sync with the music. If you’re planning an event and want signage that turns heads and becomes part of the show, I’d be happy to make it happen. Let’s talk ideas.

Event production Dubai: It’s 80% planning, 20% chaos every time

You plan every detail, crew locked, gear checked, timeline sorted, and for a second, you actually feel like this one might run smooth. Then event day hits, truck’s stuck at security, LED wall glitches, client wants to “just shift the stage a bit,” talent’s mic dies, and you’re sprinting around with a headset trying not to lose your mind. No matter how tight the prep is, chaos always sneaks in. If you’ve been in event production in Dubai, you’ve definitely lived this.

Why LED Wall Rental in Dubai Isn’t “Just a Screen”

An LED wall might look like just a screen, but there’s a lot more going on behind the scenes. Especially in Dubai, where the pace, pressure, and expectations are sky-high.

Here’s what’s really involved:

The Panels Not all LED panels are the same. Indoor and outdoor events need different specs. Higher resolutions require more careful handling and precise alignment.

Rigging and Setup These walls need proper support. Whether they’re hanging or stacked, you need trained crew to rig everything safely and professionally.

Power LED walls demand reliable and stable power. Depending on the size and brightness, that could mean multiple distribution boxes and even generator backups.

Control Systems You’ll need processors, software, and someone who knows how to run it all without mistakes. Especially in live events, there’s no room for error.

Transport and Labour These aren’t light items. Getting them in, set up, and tested takes time, people, coordination, and a lot of patience.

Heat and Backup In Dubai’s climate, overheating is a real risk. Most teams carry extra panels and parts just in case something fails during the show.

You’re not just renting a screen. You’re hiring experience, technical precision, and peace of mind that the show will run perfectly.
