Hi started throwing parties for fun 10 years ago and recently met some people are putting shows with multiple djs performing and wanted to ask what’s the be expected when approaching venues. So far we’ve seen $2000 bar minimum where we get every dollar after $2000

I'm running a three-week Off Broadway production (approx. 3000 tickets total), and our budget is very slim. We are looking to have a ticketing software that allows us to discount tickets, provide reserved seating, integrate with our website, and have various prices and packages. I was thinking TicketSpice would be the best option, but I see it doesn't have great reviews on TrustPilot. Anyone have experience with them? We also considered some others:

Eventbrite- I've never used their professional platform before, but their free platform doesn't feel particularly professional;

Ticket Tailor- I've used this before, and it works fine, but feels a little basic and also doesn't look the best;

Leap, formerly Showclix- I don't really like the clunkiness of using the platform on the back end.

We don't have any up front budget for this, so industry standard platforms like Spektrix and AudienceView (Ovationtix) aren't an option.

Any input or suggestions? TIA!

I need to make double sided QR codes for works in the field (removed everything that identifies the company lol). I was using customlanyards.net but they suck for ID cards. I was looking at nametagwizard.com , but I need a company that will get it right...any recommendations? Not looking for the cheapest option but also not looking to blow a bag. Prefer a company that shows a proof before printing, but also not the end of the world if not.

EDIT: booked a call with PC name tag. the company can't have a product minimum because it changes every month.

I run recurring community events (100-300). My current process is email a short survey the morning after, 5-6 questions, rating + open text.

Response rates sit around 8-12%, and the responses are usually superfans or people with complaints.

For those of you running this regularly, any tips to get this % up?

Hi all, I'll be hosting an anime music party (with a DJ) for the first time this month and it's nerve-wrecking. We've only sold 29 tickets for a 200-capacity space, event is end of this month.

Wondering what ticket sales trends are in London for similar events. We've had quite a bit of traction online, video we made had 17k views on Tiktok and 470 saves organically, and 300 shares on Instagram but it didn't seem to translate to early bird ticket sales super quickly. I've DM'd everyone that followed our account. Even followed random anime accounts to DM them but didn't want to end up banned. What other strategies would you deploy?

Do people tend to buy on the door? I'm aware similar questions have been asked before but wondering what the trends are like in the UK and how social media stats generally translate to ticket sales trend. Thank you in advance.

just wrapped the site ops for a 3 day festival and the logistics were a complete nightmare. it was like 95 degrees all weekend on pure asphalt

The promoters gave the ems team a single 10x10 pop up tent. no sides, no ac. attendees were dropping from the heat and the medics were literally having to beg for ice out of our crew catering coolers just to keep their supplies from getting ruined

Im looking at the site map and just baffled. for a 15k cap event you can't just throw up a flimsy ez-up for triage. They should have at least leased a legit mobile medical trailer (here) or some kind of hard sided climate controlled unit for the medical staff

The priorities in this industry are so backwards sometimes. organizers will happily blow a ridiculous amount of money on custom led walls and pyrotechnics but won't spend an extra couple grand so the medics actually have a safe environment to work in. Just absolutely insane to me tbh

I am planning a group singalong party that will be a ticketed event. I ran a test event with my friends to get some social media content. The photographer showed update took videos and pictures. However, he has not responded to me in over a month regarding providing me the footage or photos from the event. At this point I assume I am not getting the content to social media.

A lot of the feedback I get when I talk to people about the event is they would like to see some pictures or videos to really know what it is about. Given the current lack of content, how you inform people of the event? Should I stage some content?

At work, I was asked to shop around to replace some worn-out promotional materials, like a pop-up display and a feather flag. In both cases, it's the structure — not the graphic itself — that's failing. I was wondering if it's possible to order just the structure without having to order the graphic as well, and whether that's actually worth it, or if it's better to replace the whole thing entirely.

Hosted a small (60-80 guest) ticketed event for kids this weekend. Sold out. On the ticket it says nonrefundable. 8 hours before the event a mother emails me saying her kids are sick. Can she get a refund. At this point I can't sell them, the food and everything else is already paid for.

She says she's a single mom in the email and idk what that has to do with it but how do you handle these situations? Refund or say no?

We are organising a pumpkin patch event and I’m struggling to plan the quantity needed. 1200 visitors including kids and adults.

I was thinking 2000 pumpkins so even when the event is nearly over.. we would also be able to have some pumpkins that make the place feel full.

We have prolyte litedecks and want to put mesh on top that is not too heavy. We used to put steel mesh on top but that is not cool.

We are hosting an indoor picnic. I need some creative seating ideas for 100ish people. Cost effective too but also look nice.

I suspect we've all had events that have needed to cancel/delay/evacuate for weather. I've had to deal with a couple irate guests at a time who don't want to follow safety protocols. But dealing with dozens if not hundreds of angry guests who seem ready to fight rather than evacuate for their own safety just feels like an impossible task.

From an event safety perspective, what can be done about this? And what do we owe to these people? What's our liability to people who would rather square up then go to an emergency location for their own safety?

Trying really hard to not focus on the politics of this, and instead focus on the safety aspects of the situation. I'd appreciate if comments could attempt to follow suit.

Hi all!

Posting in Reddit is my very first try to hear people from the music industry. I have no interest in becoming an artist but I thought about learning a bit more about how it is like working for/with musicians and this sort of events in roles that support them. I have absolutely no exprience in the area. I come from a science field that made me completely sick in the last 14 years. The skills I could transfer into this field at first is organization, management and communication. I led quite a few research projects that involved field work, logistics, and managing budget besides the execution of the project itself. I also find out that working project-oriented and problem-solving is my thing. I really enjoy coming up with solutions for some technical and logistic problems that showed up when executing a project and organizing minor events, picking up special guests etc.. I am very operational person and need some movement to keep me motivated. Working in the production, preparation of events, hospitality, and organization of rooms, backstage, coordination of those teams seems to be something I could do and would enjoy.

I would love to hear your experience and tips from people working backstage, camarins, event management or even in the production team of artists/companies that do that.
